el_travels The End. It's difficult to comprehend or even put into words.
Six countries traversed. One year.
For nearly five months we lived out of this tent, surrounded by mountains and waking up to the sounds of birds, monkeys and various insects. Living in that manner taught us the magic of living simply and was a reminder of life's true necessities. This was one of the best things we took from our trip.
Over the course of the past year we were tourists, explorers, painters, cooks, a baker, bartenders, spanish students, english teachers, gardeners, farm hands, carpenters, tilers, entrepreneurs, a receptionist, and a mountain bike guide, mechanic and trail builder. We played many roles in many locations, and by doing so, learned more about ourselves, humanity, kindness and patience than we ever imagined possible. We met some of the most beautiful people and made incredible, lasting friendships and also encountered some of the most frustratingly difficult people and situations, too. Every high and every low taught us something important along the way.
We left the US seeking fresh eyes, new perspective and inspiration and are coming back brimming. What we have gained from this year has forever changed us.
We're baaaaaaack, baby.

el_travels We never thought we would spend a Halloween night in a cemetery, but last night was one of the most beautiful things either one of us has witnessed. It was pretty incredible to see a place that we previously thought to be grim and spooky look and feel so peaceful, alive and downright beautiful. There was food, there was alcohol, there was music and dancing, and there were candles and the most vibrant marigolds as far as the eye could see. Families were huddled celebrating their deceased loved ones and welcoming their souls back home. This is #diadelosmuertos #oaxaca #mexico 2mon
  •   el_travels Is it not also amazing to see that this man passed away 20 years ago and his family is still celebrating him today?! 2mon
  •   jenn_kramer So jealous! 2mon
