drewosborne “This card recalls an old Zen story, about a lion who was brought up by sheep and who thought he was a sheep until an old lion captured him and took him to a pond, where he showed him his own reflection. Many of us are like this lion - the image we have of ourselves comes not from our own direct experience but from the opinions of others. A "personality” imposed from the outside replaces the individuality that could have grown from within. We become just another sheep in the herd, unable to move freely and unconscious of our own true identity.
It’s time to take a look at your own reflection in the pond, and make a move to break out of whatever you have been conditioned by others to believe about yourself. Dance, run, jog, do gibberish - whatever is needed to wake up the sleeping lion within.“

drewosborne Before the new year I constantly spoke to others and myself about wanting to travel. I needed get out to see more, live more, and learn more. I am one to touch often on manifestation. I truly believe that if you put something out there, it will come to you... not always exactly how you imagined, but it will... Well, the travel has indeed come.

It is interesting how much you learn about yourself when not stationed at home, especially when you're in another country. Bali taught me a ton about myself. Things to work on, things I like, don't like, and ultimately handed me the space I needed to find growth. With only a short time home before I leave again tonight, I sit and reflect on how traveling gives us the opportunity to learn so much. And yes, while the locations may be beautiful, the food incredible, and the laughs life long memories being made... the homesickness, anxiety, and fears, are also extremely important tools to accessing this space of growth while adventuring.

This evening I embark to the other side of the world yet again, for a month of work. I will be remote and without solid connection, so if you're not seeing me on here as much, that is why.
As I wrap up this share, zip up the suitcase, and give my family & pups goodbyes, I will take a deep breath and remember to enjoy the journey.
In the meantime, I press play on the next adventure, and hope to explore the observant mindset that being abroad offers. Hereeeee we go! -

drewosborne "One can be in deep love and yet be alone. In fact, one can be alone only when one is in deep love. The depth of love creates an ocean around you, a deep ocean, and you become an island, utterly alone. Yes, the ocean goes on throwing its waves on your shore, but the more the ocean crashes with its waves on your shore, the more integrated you are, the more rooted, the more centered you are. Love has value only because it gives you aloneness. It gives you space enough to be on your own." 4w

drewosborne "Life doesn’t need you to accept it. Life accepts you totally in the moment, including your present non-acceptance of life, just as the ocean accepts every wave as itself, no matter how the wave appears. Stop trying to ‘do’ acceptance, and stop rejecting non-acceptance, and sink deeply into the acceptance that is here, the unconditional acceptance that you have always been…" 4w

drewosborne My silhouette is my soulmate.
Its caliginous outline,
omniscient of my experience.

My starkly silent shadow
is cognizant, but indifferent;
a wise old soul.

I’ve learned to accept it.
I don’t inquire about specifics.
We share everything without language.

Despite discourse, we commonly
seek solitude.
To be alone, to be together.

drewosborne Oh Ubud, you beautiful place. The buzz and energy in this town is unlike any other. The smiling locals, fellow yogis, sounds of scooters vrooming by, and the incredible food can't be beat. Excuse me while I down local kombucha and devour the best raw salad with sesame ginger dressing here at @clearcafeubud. Today is one to be thankful for. 1mon

drewosborne Hope everyone has a wonderful NYE... About to start ringing it in and beginning the celebrations here on the island. It's so cool how when you travel here you continuously run into people you have met out and about, and then add more to the group as you go. Met the nicest British girls the first night in Bali, and they are here to celebrate with us... Along with about 10 other Australians we have met. There truly is nothing like traveling. Okay, off to crack open a Bintang. Cheers.

Oh! I also caught myself before using Josh's phone to post this and realized I hadn't thought about not having my iPhone all morning. Thinking this should be a good lesson on staying present. As long as I get my fix to post every day or so. Cross your fingers we keep @joshkrameryoga's phone alive while here in Indo.
