drewosborne I've been throwing back some videos recently. And to to be honest, it's because I've lost touch with my physical practice and the strength I used to carry in it. While I've found more fluidity and movement, it's interesting how certain transitions become harder. I'm holding onto a lot right now, and my practice feels heavy. Even sharing openness, connection, and honesty does too. I keep this account running because I am inspired by all that I see and read. Life is a constant journey. The ups and downs will come. Our physical practice is just an example of that. Working to find ease on releasing. With release, work, and practice... clarity, words, and strength will come. 19h

drewosborne Move. Shake. Love. Cry. Laugh. Fail. Succeed. Cut the music. Cut the bullshit. Quiet the noise. Quiet the trying. Stop the perfect. Feel the feels. Breathe. Grow. Blossom. Live. This is OUR practice. 2d

drewosborne As said in my last post... I couldn't wait to create with this light of a human. So blessed to be able to call @jadealectra a friend. Thanks for always inspiring me to be a better person, and for sharing the amazingness posted below.
.
"For fast life changing growth... Spend more time around people who move you beyond your old story. There are people who have let go of their fears and have connected to their power. They will pull you into a place that causes you to surrender into what you really are. You can feel it in your body. It's scary and exciting. People who see you as even greater than you see you will help you to move faster.
A good friendship/ relationship will cause you to let go.
A stagnant relationship will cause you to hold on. You might be choosing this out of fear of change. You might think you are your old limited story.
Staying around people who cause you to over explain yourself, stay small, be extra apologetic, can keep you in the old protective limited story of your past. They haven't let go of their pain yet and now you are holding it with them.
But you are always a rocket ship waiting to take off.
The only question to ask when you are about to make plans.... Does this person cause me to surrender into my greatness, or cause me to hold back and stay stagnant with them?

If you make expansive decisions you will find big powers.
If you don't know anyone who expands you, go find them!
Free yourself and free the world." - Kyle Cease

drewosborne My cousin just sent me this photo of her little one killing tree pose. I love it so much. I guess the Yoga addiction runs in our family. #startemyoung 7d

drewosborne Ah, the Eka Pada Bakasana to Handstand transition. This has been a Yoga goal for me for a while. Here my brother is killing this transition. Go follow him (@brandonosborneyoga) if you're looking for an inspirational practice and teacher. Also, go take one of his classes at multiple studios around the Los Angeles area! (Soon to be North Cali though, since homeboy just got into @ucberkeley. WooHoo!) #YogaBrothers 1w

drewosborne "If you were far out in space, you would see that the sun neither rises nor sets, but that it shines continuously. And yet, even after realizing that, we can continue to speak of the sunrise or sunset, still see its beauty, paint it, write poems about it, even though we now know that it is a relative rather than an absolute truth.” - Eckhart Tolle 1w

drewosborne I always seem to stumble upon the below quote when most needed. To me this perfectly explains the practice of Yoga for me. I've had it saved for years without ever knowing the author. Today I came across across it and found her name. I love it! Take a read.

Everything you’ve experienced is stored in your body at a cellular level. Each cell is a record of all of it. I’ve felt it in your skin. Being born. Being held. The time you fell off your bike and weren’t that hurt but very scared. That brutal sunburn on your shoulders at 14. The time you fell out of a tree and broke your collarbone. The first time you felt deeply loved. The person who hurt you so badly you thought you were broken for good. Your muscles remember it. They remember it like it happened 10 minutes ago.
Your successes hold your shoulders high. Your losses pull your chest inward. You hold your sadness in your throat, your anger in your jaw and your fear in your belly. Your happiness rises and falls in your chest. Love rolls in and out on the tides of your breath. It’s all there, all the time. You can release the parts that hurt, if you want to. - Kate Bartolotta

drewosborne I've been in need for some mountain air recently. A month in the mountains may be in due. As the saying goes - "The mountains are calling, and I must go..." -
Also, side note. I can't stop jamming @keithurban's new album Ripcord. If you haven't heard it GO LISTEN!

drewosborne It is so interesting how our practice changes as we journey through Yoga. Mentally and physically. There are times where my practice is playful, fun, and light… but also times when it is deep, slow, shaky, and extremely emotionally. I've been thinking a lot about backbends recently. If you would have asked me 6 months ago, I would've told you i'm head over heels for them. Now i'm the opposite. I steered away from them somehow, and the relationship I have with my spine is tight & touchy right now. I've been focused on opening my shoulders and other areas, and have completely ignored my back. This full grip of the feet in bow was a piece of cake for me a while back, and now I can't even fathom it. This is coming full circle, that perhaps this can be a lesson in balance. Creatures of habit we may be, but I seem to become obsessed and too attached to one specific style of practicing. I'm going to make it a point to start touching on all different asanas right now. As I unlock and re-introduce myself to my back, perhaps I will discover a build up of some energy that needs releasing. 2w
