  •   __ahimsa This was, for me, a grown up Marvel film. The most sophisticated in execution. Attention to detail. Breathtaking action sequences. Just enough humor. Storyline. Score. It had it all. But the wonderful thing about being in the world at this time is you can't lose with Marvel. They are so good at everything they do...and yes I still remember the Eric Bana Hulk when I say this lol 2d
  •   doctornvrmore @__ahimsa You are right! I cannot argue with you on any "intelligent" level... #CaptainAmerica #WinterSoldier should be my favorite Superhero movie of all time! And it is one of my favorites... Top 2, Top 3, Top 4??? I 2d
  •   __ahimsa I have a soft spot for the first Iron Man. Of course the Avengers. Guardians. Blade. Thor 1. I think the best might still be yet to come... 2d
  •   doctornvrmore @__ahimsa (didn't mean to send that) ... My other contenders for Top 5 are... The Avengers: Probably my #1 because of the sheer awesome, dream come true magnitude of the movie (It's what I wanted from the X-men movie but didn't deliver)... Spider-man 2 and Spider-man (Rami) are in strong consideration as well. Spider-man 2 with Doc Ock was such a great movie, such a great story, and the dialogue was great as well. As much as it pains me to admit it, because I am not a big DC/Batman guy--- but The Dark Knight was an epic story (Batman Begins was good and The Dark Knight Rises was filled with issues for me)... I also hesitate not to harken back to the original Superman movie-- great movie for it's time and Christopher Reeves is the actor which all superhero actors are trying to measure up to... So it's hard for me just to hand it to Winter Soldier even though it is very much worthy.... 2d
  •   doctornvrmore You are right though, again, Blade was the first true Marvel movie and IronMan and RDJ put Marvel on the map... I do have a great love for the IronMan movies, although I was never a HUGE IronMan comicbook guy, well at least not Tony, I really loved the West Coast Avengers with Rhodey in the suit! lol... GotG was such a huge surprise, I expected it to be good, but after watching IronMan3 I wasn't sure I would think it was great... but hell-- it was awesome!! @__ahimsa 2d
  •   __ahimsa I was limiting my initial opinion on WS as the best of the Marvel films. But when expanded to all superhero films Superman: The Movie set the standard for sure. Richard Donner set the bar very high. The Dark Knight might actually be the best overall for my money. But Marvel is where my heart is. I too was not a huge Tony Stark fan, but what child is going to relate to a character like that? But RDJ brought him to life in such a way that Jon Favreau just made magic happen. I loved Loki in the comics so his presence in Thor and Avengers were highlights for me. And being a Vision fan I am trying to contain myself for A2 just in case. But I really cant wait for Black Panther and Doctor Strange. Even Ant Man because Im a Paul Rudd geek. Maybe one day a Namor flick? (Even though thats a "rights" issue, I believe Legendary pictures had him.) Oh, and I was a bog fan of Ramis Spidey 1&2 and even Amazing Spiderman 1. But a fresh take with Marvel is very exciting for me. 2d
  •   __ahimsa And I totally agree on the X-Men films. They never seem to deliver and always have more flaws for me than greatness. I own them all and find things to enjoy for sure, but they always seem to leave me empty. Maybe its Fox. But the Fantastic 4 films were such a huge let down too...and dont get me started on what they did to my beloved Silver Surfer! Lol 2d
  •   __ahimsa It must be said though that even with all of my Marvel love the only superhero film I ever stood in line for was Tim Burton's Batman. I was never the biggest Batman fan but that was so fun and provided very good memories. 2d

doctornvrmore This maybe I'm silly but I don't understand #DCEntertainment... How many "universes" do they have going? CW should be their home in my opinion... Don't understand the splintering between all the different networks.... #NBC #Constantine #Fox #Gotham #Cbs #Supergirl #CW #Arrow #TheFlash #JusticeLeague #Superman #Batman #BatmanVersusSuperman ... #TheDCMultiverse??? Lol #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths 7d
  •   detective.wayne Titans is a big one lol wait till the DCU starts and then we'll see how the puzzle fits in maybe Darkseid is planning his conquest of all realisties lol and will converge wink wink it's a nod to convergence 6d
  •   doctornvrmore @detective.wayne I really think there will be issues with different networks working together with anything like what you're thinking you'd like to see happen with a DC multiverse multi-network crossover. Red tape and lawyers galore... I could see maybe a TNT Titans and CW Flash/Arrow crossover eventually since both are WB companies.... I don't see Fox/CBS/NBC ever allowing that to happen. The logistical nightmare it took to get Spidey "kinda" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an example that these things aren't easy to get done once you sign over "rights" to certain network studios... But anything is possible... Personally, as I said, CW and TNT are great fits for Superheroes - I don't really like network TV- networks expect shows to perform at a much higher level for the advertising dollars they demand and I don't know if weekly super hero shows perform that well-- I know Agents of SHIELD does not perform that well-- but Disney is invested in what Marvel is doing so it's been allowed to continue and my understanding is this will possibly be SHIELDs last year (not sure though)... @__ahimsa @scline138 6d
  •   scline138 I knew Agents wasn't performing the greatest, but I had no idea that it may come to an end, but you make an excellent point about these shows happening on the "Big" networks and the demands these networks will have for the shows. Those networks just don't seem to work for the superhero platform. 6d
  •   __ahimsa Personally I am more of a movie fan and would prefer to see the genre stay off television. 6d
  •   doctornvrmore @__ahimsa You are right. I do prefer the superhero movie to TV show... But The Flash and Gotham are pretty good. I'm not as into Arrow. SHIELD is good but I agree with critics it moves too slow and lacks meaty stories week to week... I understand the Joss Whedon brand of storytelling and appreciate it for what it is... I do think it's better suited for the big screen though.... But the truth of the matter is... With the technology available to make superhero special effect cheaper and cheaper, onset of Netflix and other similar steaming services as well as cable having 300 channels to chose from... There is only so many Big Bang Theory reruns they can air -- so comic book heroes making their way to the small screen will prolly be unending at this point... I'm looking fwd to Marvel's run on Netflix - I have high hopes. I think the TNTs, the CW's and the streaming services are where comic book shows can flourish. I'm pretty sure Arrow would have never made it out of its first season on one of the big three, same could prolly be said for Smallville! Lol... Still it's just awesome to be having these conversations compared to when I was a kid wishing for this kind of stuff on a broader scale in movies and TV... It really is a great time to be a comic book geek. @scline138 @detective.wayne 6d
  •   n3rdout Drives me bonkers. 5d
  •   n3rdout Just saw your last comment. Smallville is the only reason I gave Arrow a chance. I'm in heaven right now with all these shows. But the different universes are dumb. I blame it on Nolan. lol 5d
  •   doctornvrmore @n3rdout I blame greed. 4d
