djrosedna Oh, so you want to get out of school early to avoid the BBQ and movie? Okay, there's weeding and planting to be done. Thanks buddy! ;) #lawnorder #notvegetarianenoughforsomeofmyfollowers 18h
  •   djrosedna @evanxduckett it's nice to know that the "random disparaging commenter" is alive and well. 18h
  •   bill_stevenson I've got a Straight Hedge! 18h
  •   bill_stevenson I don't even think about weeds, they're something I just don't need! 18h
  •   evanxduckett Honestly I read through that thread shaking my head. I'm not sure if she's just unfamiliar with your background, but questioning your veganism or the integrity of your veganism in some way just seems silly. Everyone is far too concerned with convincing everyone else to uphold whatever set of moral standards THEY think everyone else should be held to. As long as the Internet exists, there will always be people who tell you you're not vegan enough because you don't force your kids to be vegan, and will tell you that you're not straight edge enough if your kids choose to not follow that path. What they fail to understand is that forcing those types of things upon anyone, especially impressionable children, will only lead to resentment and disdain for the beautiful wisdom you thought you were trying to impart. It's sad, but she'll get nowhere with that attitude. Meanwhile, you'll continue on being an A+ father, husband, vegan, and edgeman. 18h
  •   lealovesoi these weeds have grown where the sun once shone. 18h

djrosedna Dad life in the 315 1d
  •   djrosedna @dannyreedtattoo they even come after me. Hahahaha 23h
  •   djrosedna @troycoretrance you see it. The deeper issue. And my struggle to protect while not fighting his battles for him. Parenthood us so rewarding and so not straight forward. 23h
  •   mistermilko13 Terrific! We had a similar experience with our 9 year old recently. Parents were invited, so my wife just brought him some falafel! 21h
  •   denimsara @djrosedna heard you. I disagree about the off topic part of your comment. And mine was not meant to be rude. Yours is. 19h
  •   djrosedna @denimsara how would yours not be rude? Explain how it is either educational, friendly or otherwise warranted ? And this post is about my son not wanting to be picked on for being vegetarian. Not about your feeling that he's not doing enough to please your vegan sensibilities. If you feel your teaching me something with your comment, know that I've been vegan for longer than you've been alive. And something i have learned is to praise the positive and not to "vegan police" others. So I fail to see what positivity you were trying to spread. Enlighten me. Also, as an exercise, with your permission only, I could leave some advice for you on your posts. 19h
  •   jose_galvan @djrosedna One of the things I've learned as a parent is a painfully obvious lesson: parents know their children better than anyone and thus are more qualified than anyone else on how to parent them. Also FWIW, the kids have had similar conversations w/ Amy and I regarding food and its place in our Lord's creation. =) 18h
  •   djrosedna @jose_galvan I have definite ideas and philosophies that I believe will help alleviate the exterior suffering of animals on this wondrous marble. I have found the best way to spread those beliefs in this age is through clear and LOVING communication. This is done with self first. Then family, friends and community. Over the years we and many others have seen the detriments to most ideas is there followers "all or nothing" fanaticism. Those people usually don't last long as there goals are self serving and alienating. To change, you have to engage. To engage, you must be welcomed. We live in a time of anonymous snark. We must keep the long living flame alive and vital. I choose to do this by example. Ask, or don't. But I do not offer without invitation. Especially parenting. Hahahaha 18h
  •   keli108 Dude! I fucking applaud your kid for keeping it real. You have been the example. Shame on people for thinking they know more and understand more about raising kids and being veg. Glad he stayed away from all the bullshit. 13h

  •   djrosedna @soulrebel78 it's a Dr. Jones action pack, if you must know. It has my Templar maps in it. And a bag for sand if I might need it. A bag of sand is almost the same weight as a solid gold idol. I've done the math. 2d

djrosedna There's a lot going on underneath your feet if you have the want to see. Beneath this unassuming formation of rock and growth at the base of a cataract, lies a killer. Destroyed for its blood thirst. When you walk by, you can feel the chillllllllllllll. 3d

djrosedna It took me years of letter writing and calling shops both west coast and east until I was able to get my first tattoo from Daniel Higgs. I'd like to thank these two people for facilitating that primary meeting. Those of you in the tattoo world know the impact these two had. I was pleased as punch to be able to get this pic after many many years. Thank you gentlemen. I am grateful! 7d
