danielfooddiary SG50 dish. Fried Baby Barramundi from Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant.
It is priced at the cost price of $18 for 500g of fish. $18!

The Chef explained this is priced to support our local fish farmers and the industry, and celebrate the country’s birthday in a meaningful way.

Talking about cakes, I will be at Orchard Central tomorrow 1-3pm to talk about food photography, and how to pair desserts with beverages.
Special guest will be Elvin Ng @elvinngchoonsiong (Do I hear screams?) I promise I will make him do some FOOD Porn. Haha.

danielfooddiary Cha Thai's Pineapple Rice is also quite different from the typical offerings.
Instead of just frying the rice, the rice is curry spiced then baked, including ingredients of pineapple, cashew, sweet pepper bells and raisins.
Therefore, you may find the rice mushier, but with warmth contained throughout the meal.

danielfooddiary Cold Stone Creamery at HillV2!

Watch the ice cream being blended on a frozen granite stone.

You can mix-in various combinations of fruits, nuts, candy, cookies, brownies and peanut butter.
For the tried and tested, go for the Founder’s Favourite, or Strawberry Banana Rendezvous – strawberry ice cream mixed with graham cracker pie crust, white chocolate chips, strawberries and bananas.

danielfooddiary The Korean organic soft serve ice cream, Milk Cow at Tampines 1.
Usually I would order in a cup (because it will not be as messy), but also discovered the joys from having Milk Cow from a cone – crunchy and soft at the same time.
But you must eat the soft serve ASAP as it can melt quite fast in this weather.

danielfooddiary When the aunties making Nasi Lemak did THIS, a doll's skirt out of rice, along with side dishes of achar, fried drumlets, peanuts etc etc, we went WOW.

Aunties are quite creative now. Whoever they are cooking for at home is quite fortunate.
More dishes from the cooking competition in the video.

danielfooddiary Honoured to be invited as the judge of "Battle Of The Cooks" at Jurong Point.

These home cooks have to create a 3-course locally inspired meal in 90 min!

The winning team did a interpretation of Teochew Orh Nee with yam chip in a coconut, and a Hae Zor (deep fried prawn) with a molten half boiled egg within. Wow.
So so impressed. (I finished the whole egg btw)
