danielfooddiary Homemade savoury Bak Chang with pork belly and salted egg yolk stuffing! Yum Yum.

Just learnt how to make these tasty glutinous rice dumplings from Chef Forest Leong at Geylang Serai CC, since Duan Wu Jie (Dragon Boat Festival) is about a month away.

If you want to attend such useful courses, People's Association has launched the '50.TASTE' culinary programme to celebrate #SG50.

You can learn how to prepare Singapore local delights (like the Bak Chang) and other heritage food, with over 250 classes across 5 different themes.

danielfooddiary Laska from Seasonal Tastes Westin Singapore.
Chef was confident enough to say his was one of the best, said to be inspired by both Singapore and Malaysian versions. True enough, the gravy hovered somewhere in the middle – not overly rich, slight coconuty aroma, and base which was flavourful while being light.

Get a 25% off their buffet dinner when you quote @danielfooddiary and show this blog entry! Quite a good deal.

Used to taste better. Still juicy enough for me. Just saying.

danielfooddiary "Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in.' Interesting to dine in a restaurant that is named after one of my favourite childhood stories.

Some pigs died worthy, while some died in vain.

danielfooddiary A surprise find at Zion Road Food Centre. Pork ball soup with minced pork rice. Wasn't expensive at $4.80. A pity that the pork wasn't braised. Kind of miss Taiwan now. 3d

danielfooddiary Read some positive reviews here and there. Admittedly, this is a rather photogenic burger.
But couldn't help feeling ripped, pardon the pun.
My friend gave a comment, "How could something with so many ingredients manage to taste so bland?" Perhaps it just wasn't a good day for Jack. Maybe I will be back.

danielfooddiary Who could resist a viols coloured cake infused with 3 types of teas?
Of course the best way to show you the texture, is to cut in.
A gem found in a kopitiam (which doesn't sell kopi btw).

danielfooddiary Hong Lim is full of gems. One of them is Ah Kow's BCM (Kow here means 9, not dog). The sauce which is all salty, spicy, and oily is the winner. Prefer this slightly more than the other one. 4d

danielfooddiary Just attended the 1st ever Food & Social Media Conference in Singapore. Thank you for inviting me over to speak.

Very coincidentally, I knew the organizers through various occasions. Mastermind @rubbisheatrubbishgrow & @sgfoodonfoot through foodie gatherings, @pinkypiggu from church choir, @ironsage from gym and @stormscape my cafe correspondent. Haha.
Very proud of you guys for doing this on your own free will, all for the good for the food community in Singapore.
Inspired by @ieatishootipost to do something too. And I will. #fscsg #fscsg15

danielfooddiary I love to eat a variety of food, because yes, I do get bored easily.
Fortunately, we are blessed to be Singapore with a melting pot of cultures.
