dan_mcnamara Yolanda and I hiked with the dog to the highest point in San Clemente. We are hoping the dog makes it back. 2w

dan_mcnamara Quick timelapse of last weekends drive up #furkapass in Switzerland. Rainy and windy up and over 2 glaciers and I still passed some bikes on the way up. The other side down was even more windy and crazy but it was a completely socked in whiteout so you'll have to use your imagination. #sorryavisreantacar #ihadtodoit 2w

dan_mcnamara ....and I just surfed in an airport. Somehow I Jedi mind tricked my way into a wetsuit, board, clean Munich airport branded towel (which i really wanted to steal) and a board and caught a few waves before my flight. It's way different than ocean surfing, and really weird to see water coming at you rather than pushing you, but it's super fun. Thanks to the awesome staff for hooking me up! 3w

dan_mcnamara You know you're in Europe when you stumble upon a river surfing contest at the airport. 3w

dan_mcnamara I have traveled quite a bit and I am sure in saying that there most likely is no more beautiful place on earth than Switzerland. The level of engineering in their mountain roads and passes is second to none and no matter how far in the middle of nowhere you think you are, there is always bus and train service available that runs on time, every time. This is just one of hundreds of unreal views from today's drive through the Rhone and Uri Alpes valleys and passes. #alwaystakethesideroads #furkapass #helvetia Thanks @zerogchamonix for the route suggestions through Furka and Andermatt! 4w

  •   el_braineater Whoa, I used to spend a lot of time there. It all looks like Disney there. 4w
  •   lawson23 Great spot. Rent a bike and go for a ride around the lake @dan_mcnamara 4w
  •   dan_mcnamara @el_braineater I was thinking the same thing. No huge turkey legs though. OK, maybe on the Germans. 4w

dan_mcnamara In this weeks edition of LAX randomness, I noticed Air Force One and its two C-17 Globemaster support planes parked at the furthest west point of the airport. The C-17's carry the entire presidential motorcade including an ambulance, Secret Service gear, and Suburbans that look like your next door neighbors except they can literally vomit machine gun fire in any general direction. All of a sudden my exit row seat isn't quite as exciting... 4w

dan_mcnamara Looks like we missed another "locked down" San Clemente 4th of July. This sign makes me laugh every year when all of the Marines who bootleg fireworks from their more firework friendly home states launch mini shock and awe campaigns from about 7pm to 2am throughout town. 2mon

dan_mcnamara Super proud of both Eva and Diego for not only jumping into over 100 feet of open ocean with no hesitation, but also for snorkeling like champs with sea turtles, fish and even a shark, sessioning the slide off the side and riding the bow of the boat the whole way out and back. #spf100 #gopro #saltykids 2mon

dan_mcnamara Saw this and immediately thought of great guy and top shelf human @draplin. Love the simplicity of the island chain and the slight hint of Hawaiian style in the type. 2mon

Normal Dan McNamara
dan_mcnamara I have been fascinated by the ghost town neighborhood of Surfridge at the end of LAX runway 25R for the better part of three decades. It was built in 1921 and had some of the nicest homes in LA for nearly 30 years, then as LA and its airport grew after WWII the neighborhood died leaving streets and some lightposts as the only physical evidence that it ever existed. I love flying over it as its the only time you can really completely see it, going beyond the fence is a federal offense. 2mon
  •   whisky_n_grits @dan_mcnamara I had no idea. Thanks for sharing! 2mon
  •   slvdr_brand @dan_mcnamara I miss this as I am usually a sleep before the wheels leave the ground. Thanks Valium. 2mon

  •   dan_mcnamara @slvdr_brand I think you mean you are asleep before you leave the gate. I remember looking back and seeing the hood over your head before they closed the door once. 2mon
  •   slvdr_brand @dan_mcnamara I think you are right. Can't recall the last time I heard the flight attendant safety presentation. 2mon
