craftivista Thanks to some new-to-me outdoor furniture, I'm spending my first full afternoon out on my porch. Absolutely delicious weather, the best of breezes, and the friendliest of birds. 17h
  •   cyntergomes I'm inviting myself over!! Looks heavenly. I have porch envy. 15h
  •   sarastclair So jealous! 15h

craftivista First farm-fresh strawberries of the season, from my inaugural trip to the Durham Farmer's Market! Also scored spinach, kohlrabi, + a baguette. All the noms. 2d

craftivista Now waiting with baited breath for a reason to use "el mapache" in context. Also, los escaladores! A frog, a chimpanzee, and el mapache on the same page! 3d
  •   jd_feliz What book is this? I actually need more bilingual books for my son but have to weed through them online, which is not easy at times. Is it mostly wildlife? 2d
  •   craftivista @jd_feliz It's all sorts of animals, and called My First Spanish Animal Board Book. I liked it because there were more animals than, say, just barnyard animals. We also "read" La oruga muy hambrienta! Pretty convinced this 1-year old's knowledge of both Spanish + German (her mother is half Austrian) has already surpassed my own. Or we're at least on the same level, as I only know words, not sentences, too! 2d
  •   jd_feliz That sounds great. I hope it is OK to ask, is it just photos of the animals? I'm trying to avoid books that show zoos and circuses. I know what you mean about the farm animal photos. They are in everything! We call them farm sanctuary animals, hehe That's funny. My one year old says words in English, German (dad), and Spanish. It's mixed at the moment, but there is nothing cuter than a "bitte" haha He always manages to say things at the right time too even if it's a word we haven't really used! 1d

craftivista The best cup of coffee in the house. 3d
  •   thefra Reading about George Eliot and finding Lewes later in life. “Light and easily broken ties are what I neither desire theoretically nor could live for practically. Women who are satisfied with such ties do not act as I have done,” she wrote 3d
  •   craftivista @thefra 3d
  •   waxmuse Vintage milkglass mug? 2d

craftivista So amazing to have this blaring in my house on a rainy morning! (Still super excited about not having downstairs/upstairs neighbors.) All these years later, still so good. 3d
  •   nagol1973 I had this tape years ago. I think I wore it out. 2d

craftivista @heatgord's homemade brownies (near empty plate) kicked my store-bought Brownie Brittle's (nearly full bowl) ass last night at The Carrack. Yet another example of handmade being better and more appreciated than store bought, people. (Plus, those brownies were really amazing!) 3d

craftivista Yup, yup, yup, and yup. Honey Cult badges at The Carrack. (Although not so much an anarchist, really, as I don't think it's viable, just rather questiony about some things.) 4d

craftivista That time I went to DinosaurLand with @naomijohnstone and crawled in an old 1950s fake shark's mouth. #tbt 4d

craftivista This is what I did this morning, what I was convinced I couldn't do, that I'd literally die or my body would give out. Seriously. Even though I've completed this whole couch to 5K program before and used to regularly run 30-40 min at a time. Even though my mind was saying, "nope noppity nope." I did it. And it feels good and I feel stronger than before, because it seemed insurmountable and I did it. So just in case you need a reminder today, you can do it. You're stronger than you think. You got this. I believe in you. xx 4d
  •   sakura.designs I recently started running again 18 months after breaking my ankle really badly. It feels so good getting back to it doesn't it. 4d
  •   jennhp Way to go Betsy! 4d
  •   _lynnne_ I love this app! I'm not a 'runner' or a regular exerciser really but I do this regime once or twice a year when I'm feeling low. Really makes you feel like you're achieving something. Well done you 4d
  •   loutheodore Well done you!!!! 4d
  •   craftivista @sakurablythe Yes, it does feel great! Well, when you're done, at least? 2d
  •   craftivista @jennhp Thanks, Jenn! One of these times I'll actually stick with it and not be running and walking! 2d
  •   craftivista @loutheodore Thanks you! 2d
  •   craftivista @_lynnne_ Me, too! I like her lovely accent and how she kinda cheers you on! 2d

craftivista Latergram of some of my favorite pieces from @theclaystudiophl's show Small Favors X. Clockwise from top left: Shalene Valenzeula's Pins and Needles, Janet Felton's Bearly Breaking Even, Peter Morgan's Bite Sized Awful Waffle Walrus Surprise, and David Furman's Tillamook and Toast. 6d
  •   o_corcoran These are wonderful! 6d
  •   jewellknits Ok, now I'm going to ask cause I'm dying to know and I've checked your feed... did you ever make that needlepoint toast?! 6d
  •   craftivista @jewellknits Ha! You remembered, how awesome! I haven't finished it, but still have it, somewhere... one day... one day... 2d

craftivista Records. And I may have gone through a weird, yet brief, Jethro Tull phase in the mid-90s. I still ️ "Song from the Wood." 6d
  •   jennhp I had a tull phase about 1989-1991, although my Yes obsession at the same time was more deep. LOVE songs from the wood. 5d
  •   craftivista @jennhp It's such a good song! To be honest, I think my Tull phase had a lot to do with bewilderment, wondering both how they got paid to make their videos/music and how they were so popular! 5d

craftivista According to this, my favorite thing was my tape collection. There is also a rather WTF hand-drawn Coat of Arms, and U2's Rattle & Hum was everything. 1w
  •   sara_huws I found one of mine a while back now, I had put an elastica tape and a troll doll in there. 7d
