cpt_chris I make the best breakfast. Two eggs over easy, homemade sausage patties, scalloped potato hash browns, peanut butter and vanilla pancakes with a maple and mixed berry butter sauce, buttered pumpernickel toast, and French pressed coffee. 🏿🏿🏿 #meatismurder #taxationistheft 1w
  •   rsmith_at Wow, that looks great. I don't even think I'd make it three-quarters of the way through. That's a hearty and unique breakfast . Good work. 1w

cpt_chris What do you do at 5:00am when you can't sleep? You start writing music. This is going to be a chorus when I refine it. I realized while working on this that I've never really played anything in 3/4 on piano, so I'm definitely having to create some new synaptic connections. It's stressful. Lol. πŸ€–πŸ€–πŸ€– 1mon

cpt_chris I've been helping out at the Bernie Sanders field office that opened up a few blocks from me. I heard one of the employees mention a desire to have art up, so I made this painting for them. They work really hard, often 12 hours a day every day, because they are passionate and dedicated to the Sanders campaign. This is a gift to them that they are free to take to their next location after the Indiana primaries. I've learned a lot about the campaign process and find the level of integrity and compassion that the employees share is inspirational. They welcomed field officers from other campaigns to the area and offered their help with anything in spite of their differences because "this is a hard job no matter what side you're on, we are all humans trying to do the best we can to support who we feel is best, and it's the right thing to do." #feelthebern #berniesanders #bernie2016 2mon

cpt_chris What I lack in sex appeal, I make up for in breakfast appeal. Slow scrambled eggs repeatedly fluffed off the heat, and thin sliced sirloin rubbed with brown sugar, salt, and pepper on rye, garnished with cilantro between the eggs and steak, served with French pressed coffee brewed with lavender and vanilla bean, chilled, and poured over ice with light cream and Demerara sugar. #uniquenewyork #uniqueyounork 2mon

cpt_chris Organized chaos. This is the very first stage of my creative process. The first two phases of my creation is surrender myself to the universe and allow it to dictate the ways my colors mix and the patterns they create. πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ #artforfartsake #fartforartsake 2mon

cpt_chris The next line is "because she can't stand to look at his stupid face," and is a sentiment I feel many people have experienced with me due to some really great personality traits that are coupled with some character flaws. Together they have been a source of pain for friends and especially lovers. I've hurt many people unintentionally over the years. Though most of my songs have been an attempt to express what I feel inside or to tell someone else's story unrelated to me, sometimes it's important to take an honest look at yourself through the eyes of others. In the case of this song there was a realization of how I am affecting others in ways I either failed to recognize or didn't give enough consideration to, and reflected poorly on the person I am. Though my words have always been sincere, I have sometimes neglected how those words might affect people in the long run. Maybe they feel good now, and maybe I am being honest, but am I truly doing something that will make them hurt more or less in the end? This song is for those people. It's for those with whom I have shared feelings, but ultimately hurt them, and in turn hurt myself. To those people I apologize for my lack of consideration, and moving forward I will take the lesson learned and use it to be a better person in the lives of those who still have me around, and the lives of those who will have me around in the future. 3mon

X-Pro II Christopher πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ Santos
cpt_chris This last summer, while on a week-long road trip from Los Angeles, CA to Buffalo, NY I purchased my DSLR. I had mapped out a route that would take me through the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Yellowstone, and various other places I always wanted to visit. I thought it would be a good idea to have more than my phone to take pictures of these beautiful landscapes. The only experience I had with photography was an intro to photography class I took in high school 11 years ago using a Canon A-1, and most of what we did was work in a darkroom. I did not expect to be so moved by the night sky to feel compelled to photograph it, but one night while driving through Idaho I found myself pointing the camera to the sky. Though my first shots turned out awful, I was determined to learn about my camera enough to capture the stars. I spent the next three days learning as much as I could and failing over and over again until one lucky night in Nebraska. In the daylight the flat landscape goes on for what seems like forever with farms as far as the eye can see. But at night the skies light up in a celestial cornucopia. This was the very first shot I successfully took of the Milky Way and it continues to be one of my favorites. With trucks whizzing by, lit up towns in the distance, and an accidental street sign I discovered the euphoria experienced when taking a beautiful and compelling shot of the world in which we live and the heavens above our heads. I captured my first light trails entirely by accident as I did not see the trucks approaching behind the frame until they had already passed through it. I learned about lighting up your foreground in that process. I leaned about the balance of shutter speed and star trails. Most importantly, I fell deeper in love with the universe than I ever expected. I've said it before and I will say it again, the most beautiful shots are 5% content, 5% technique, and 90% luck, and if you take enough shots luck becomes a certainty. It was luck that I was able to capture this shot after owning my first DSLR for only a few days. πŸ•΄πŸ•΄πŸ•΄ #chickswithtattoos #wifeymaterial #landscape #lighttrails #astrophotography #nebraska #grammasters3 3mon

  •   auto.poiesis Thanks for the text, dude! I own a D90 myself for short time now, and getting to know it better and better. My next goal is to photograph the stars. So here is your advice. Thanks for that! 3mon
  •   cpt_chris @auto.poiesis it is honestly one of the best cameras for getting into photography. It's old enough to be fairly cheap, you can get great lenses for it, and it was the equivalent to the D7200 a few years ago, so it is really good on features and quality. Just keep shooting and always play around with settings. If you want any advice on getting started let me know. I have a few tricks I picked up in my short time photographing the night sky. 3mon
  •   auto.poiesis @cpt_chris thanks! 3mon
