courtneysnowden In our home, I've spent a lot of time reinforcing the notion that being "different" is a good thing. I try my hardest to be sensitive, because I know these years are formative ones for my kids and are filled with a lot of just trying to fit in. Sometimes fitting in can feel a pretty daunting task. If feeling "different" isn't something that you've ever had to think about, consider this...imagine walking into a room, walking into a store, or walking into your workplace where you were the "only one." I'm going to be pretty blunt here. If you were the only woman in a room full of men, I'm pretty sure you'd notice. If you were the only white person in a room full of black people, I'm absolutely certain you'd notice. If you sat down to eat a steak in a room full of vegetarians, yep, you'd definitely notice. So I guess what I'm taking a really long time to get across is, just be good to people. Be good to people that are "different" from you. Try your hardest to embrace "different" instead of being afraid or distancing yourself from "different." Being different is ok, different can be incredible. And remember, an original is always worth more than a copy. ••••Rad wood sign from @jaxnblvd 2d

courtneysnowden Cheering on our Christian boy at the State track meet today. I'm starting to think that this meet has some kind of voodoo hex on it. Every year it's marred with rain and crazy winds and lightening delays...less than ideal running conditions to say the least. But he burned up the track in trials and his 4 by 1 and medley teams are both moving onto the finals tomorrow! I can't even describe the excitement and energy that's in the air at a track meet, it's beyond electrifying. Man I just love track season🏾🏾🏾🏾 #runChristianrun #mysportisyoursportspunishment 4d
  •   luckyblogs Really?!? Awe! I never know if they think I'm a dork or not. You know, teenagers are sometimes 🙄 🏻 3d

courtneysnowden I just 100% geeked out and made Will pull off on the side of the road so I could capture this insanity. 2 complete rainbows...for real double rainbows! I mean...I literally cannot even...I am so unable to even...I have lost my ability to even... #beUTAHful 7d

courtneysnowden Last night we sent our babies (minus our littlest baby and plus our biggest baby's girlfriend) to the @torikelly concert. It was one of those surreal parent moments when you look at your kids and kind of can't even believe it's really them. Like, how in the world are they all this big, doing big kid things like going to concerts together? But then you realize how absolutely cool it is that they actually all went to a concert together. And then your heart cracks in the most glorious of ways that they have each other to do life with. 1w

courtneysnowden When the music from #Hamilton becomes the soundtrack of your daily life (because your kids sing, rap, and hum it incessantly) Smiths choice for his 5th grade wax museum project seemed an obvious no brainer What's your name man? Alexander Hamilton... #hamilkids 2w

courtneysnowden Tonight we watched this little lady sass it up in her junior high musical "Crazy For You." It was also my first attempt at applying false eyelashes. Things got real sketchy real quick when we kinda sorta had a tiny "MY EYE IS GLUED SHUT" incident. 😬😬😬 Someone needs to teach me how to do fancy things... 🏽 3w

courtneysnowden I want to preface this by saying I am all for kids playing sports. We're totally a sports family and I absolutely love watching my kids play. I think being part of a team helps kids develop lots of life skills and teaches them valuable life lessons. With that being said, here is my public service announcement for the night. If you are a parent who is losing your mind screaming at your kid, losing your mind screaming at other peoples kids, losing your mind screaming at the coaches or losing your mind screaming at the refs...you most definitely have lost your mind. Believe me, I've been there. I remember one season when my oldest was in little league, I lost it and started screaming at the ref. I was so freaking mad and I WAS definitely giving him a piece of my mind! To this day, I am beyond embarrassed at how bat shiz crazy I most certainly looked. So when I say this, I'm sincerely trying to help you out. We live in a day where almost everyone has a phone (with a camera) in their hand. Keep showin' out and another spectator is going to video your crazy A, put it on social media, and before you know it, your "Parent Gone Wild" episode is trending on Twitter. So sit back and enjoy your kid, enjoy the game. By all means be enthusiastic, yell and cheer, wear their colors and shake that noise maker! But try your hardest not to embarrass them, because I promise you, that's all your antics are doing. Keep in mind why you signed that little 5 year old up in the first place...to have fun and actually enjoy the experience (and to buy the cutest itty bitty pair of cleats you've ever seen!) ••• "Atta Boy" shirt from @tribeandtrade 4w

  •   watkinsteam I couldn't agree more. There's no room for anything but positivity from the sidelines. 4w
  •   fifisboys Atta girl!!!! Very nicely said !!! Totally true tho!!! People need to just sit & watch their babies play before they are grown & gone🏼🏼 4w
  •   pics_missmaya love this! I might have to read it to hubby who sometimes gets a little 'enthusiastic' 4w

courtneysnowden We're super duper proud of our little momma Sibley. She and an amazingly talented cast of kids are performing "Children of Eden" at American Fork High School. If you need something to do for date night, I'd say come see these young actors tonight at 7:00 pm. Tickets are only $7 at the door...now that's a pretty cheap date right? And just incase you want to see it again (which you tooooootally will) they're doing it all over again on Monday and Tuesday...same time, same place 🐇🐇🐅🐅🕊🕊#childrenofeden #musicaltheatre 1mon

courtneysnowden He's gotten some flak for running track (an unintentional rhyme) because he's a football player. But here's what I think...every football player, every athlete for that matter should be on the track. The thing about track is that you won't always win the race, you might even come in dead last. But you WILL get better, you WILL get faster and you WILL get stronger. And strength doesn't always come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you thought you couldn't do. Plus...there's lots of cute girls at track meets...clearly demonstrated by Christian not looking at the camera in this picture #trackandfield 1mon

courtneysnowden Have you ever ordered something and when it arrived it looked absolutely NOTHING like what you imagined? This one time I ordered the cutest white shirt for myself online. When it came, it was this dingy yellowish color and I swear would've been tight on a toddler. I put the thing over my head, struggled to get both arms in, and then got stuck...honestly...STUCK! I was home alone and thought "perfect, I'm going to stay in this position for the next 3 hours, while I slowly lose feeling in my arms and then inevitably my doorbell will ring!" Well...after wrestling and then panicking for a few minutes, I went all Hulk on that stupid shirt and had to literally rip myself out of it! It was a comical scene A very long story to get to the point, buuuuuut when I ordered this succulent boutonnière, the absolute opposite happened. It was EXACTLY how I pictured, probably even better. I am totally obsessed with it and I'm sure Sib's date was almost certainly like "woman, chill out, you just pinned a plant on my lapel" #acolorstory #oremfloral 1mon

courtneysnowden We sent this little momma off to her first prom last night. She got home from her State Drama tournament at 5:15 and was out the door by 5:40...it might've been the fastest turn around in the history of getting ready for prom ever! She was putting on her makeup, while I was doing her hair, while Blythe was buckling up her shoes...it was like one of those crazy sped up scenes from a movie She totally rolled with the punches and I was (naturally) waaaay more stressed out than her...I'm certain going with one of her very best friends in the whole wide world had a little something to do with that 1mon

courtneysnowden A bright and early send off for this cutie pie, sassy pants girlie of ours. She's headed to the State Drama Tournament, which I didn't even know was an actual thing until she qualified. I was ready to put on my Sibley Jersey, make signs and rock face paint when she told me "ummmmm mom, parents do NOT come, it's only judges." I guess this football mom has a few things to learn about the theater world... #RaRaRaSibley And props to my girl with mad hair skills @rinrinboomboom who swooped in to save the day after I thought I'd actually be able to create a vintage pinup girl hairdo and failed miserably. It takes a village.... 1mon

courtneysnowden While friends were jet setting to all kinds of exotic destinations for spring break, the idea of staying home was a little bit of a downer for our kids. To spice things up, we drove a quick 40 minutes to the city and checked into a hotel. Sunny skies, temperatures in the 60's and a hotel pool made it feel like we were on a "real" vacation. Today we adventured to the salt flats. Miles and miles and miles of sparkling white salty soil, partially covered by a shallow lake of glistening melted snow. It was beyond incredible. So close to home and yet after all these years, this was our very first time going. We've spent this spring break really trying to enjoy each other, remembering how blessed we are and discovering how truly beautiful this place we live in is #beUTAHful #staycation 2mon
