colefarrell It was a long winter. I spent much of it by myself or with books or one-on-one with my fiancé. It felt like a season of pulling away, of investing myself in quiet time and learning that it's okay to just shut up sometimes. I got to face down some disappointments, like wedding plans that didn't come together quite as fast as I'd like. I got to live through some miracles, like seeing my perfect new nephew come into the world. I used to say nasty things about people who could reinvent themselves. I think maybe I was just jealous. Spring is here, though, and everything feels new. Even the clichés. I feel rested. I feel better at my job. I feel like I'm back, and I'm ready for new and revived friendships and all good things. Here's to new chapters. 2w

colefarrell I've always been drawn to "girly" stuff, and I've wasted a lot of my life being ashamed about that. I bought this coral colored (okay, pink) phone case and it makes me feel happy and powerful. Letting go of judgment and really liking yourself is a journey—one that usually happens for me in tiny little effeminate steps. 2mon

colefarrell "And when you think about it, poets always want us to be moved by something, until in the end, you begin to suspect that a poet is someone who is moved by everything, who just stands in front of the world and weeps and laughs and laughs and weeps." 7mon
