colefarrell Every man chooses to spend his life on something, and, for the most part, I've spent mine on desserts and cast albums. I'm thankful for the Hamilton Original Broadway Cast Recording, which has captivated my attention and rekindled my creative energy in the past few weeks. The donut shop even handed me a George Washington plate! It's like they knew I didn't want to pull my mind out of the Constitutional Convention, even for a single bite. 4mon
  •   mdials That soundtrack!' 4mon

colefarrell I tried to have a no-technology hour and I ended up spending a good third of it staging this photo so you guys would think I was one of those cool retail guest bloggers who spends a lot of time in different neat cafés. 8mon

  •   smashfizzle I have no idea how a no-technology works. Is there an app for that? 8mon

colefarrell Last weekend I got all hopped up on alone time and wandered through Holliday Park. I hoped no one saw me as I accidentally took a series of selfies (it was no accident and at least 17 people saw me). For whatever corny reason, I love this one. I showed it to my friend Amy and her response was "people get weird in the woods." Yeah, they do.

Today marks five years since the day I moved to Indianapolis. No matter what anyone says, this is a good place to be weird all over.

colefarrell It was a long winter. I spent much of it by myself or with books or one-on-one with my fiancé. It felt like a season of pulling away, of investing myself in quiet time and learning that it's okay to just shut up sometimes. I got to face down some disappointments, like wedding plans that didn't come together quite as fast as I'd like. I got to live through some miracles, like seeing my perfect new nephew come into the world. I used to say nasty things about people who could reinvent themselves. I think maybe I was just jealous. Spring is here, though, and everything feels new. Even the clichés. I feel rested. I feel better at my job. I feel like I'm back, and I'm ready for new and revived friendships and all good things. Here's to new chapters. 10mon

colefarrell I've always been drawn to "girly" stuff, and I've wasted a lot of my life being ashamed about that. I bought this coral colored (okay, pink) phone case and it makes me feel happy and powerful. Letting go of judgment and really liking yourself is a journey—one that usually happens for me in tiny little effeminate steps. 11mon

colefarrell "And when you think about it, poets always want us to be moved by something, until in the end, you begin to suspect that a poet is someone who is moved by everything, who just stands in front of the world and weeps and laughs and laughs and weeps." 1y
