cnet Microsoft's holographic HoloLens stole the show at this year's Build developer conference. The headgear works by beaming light onto the user's eyes, blending 3D virtual images with the real world. This week the company demonstrated how the device could, in the future, be used in industries like architecture, medicine and education.

cnet CNET went hands-on with EmoSpark, an artificial intelligence console that lives in your house. Once connected to Wi-Fi, it can respond to commands and inform you of weather updates and #Facebook notifications. More interestingly, the AI claims to recognise facial expressions, learn what makes you happy or sad, and actually change its own behaviour depending on how you treat it.

cnet LG unveiled its latest flagship phone -- the G4 -- at its press conference in New York today. It sports a 5.5-inch LCD display, which LG claims is 25 percent brighter than last year's G3. Whilst the G4 is plastic, the back panels are removable, so you could choose vegetable-dyed stitched leather like this one. For more information about the G4, head to cnet.com

cnet Ever wondered how @xcarofficial get those shots? The XCAR crew drive and film some of the most exciting and impressive cars in the world. But with expensive vehicles and difficult weather conditions, shoots can be very challenging.

cnet Here are @mini's Augmented Vision concept glasses. They have two cameras, two projectors, a GPS chip and a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The glasses interact with cameras outside the car, enabling the driver to see through the doors and outside the vehicle. This could improve visibility of sidewalks and pedestrians when driving and parking. The wearable also provides navigation guidance.

cnet Winning the Iron Throne is easy, now that you can just order it on Uber. That's what @bridgethappens did yesterday when HBO was holding this little publicity stunt in New York to promote is newly expanded HBO Now service. And they make it look so hard on TV...

cnet Academy award-winning producer Brian Grazer stops by CNET for a Q&A. 3w
  •   bondjames007 What was one of the best questions @cnet? 3w
  •   ervin__young U guys are the coolest 3w
  •   cnet @bondjames007: Took a poll of the CNET staff to see what their favorite stories were. Here's one: He talked about his Grandmother Sonia -- she believed in him from a young age and thought that he was going to be special even though he had all Fs in school and there "was no empirical evidence to suggest I would be famous one day." 2w
  •   cnet @bondjames007: Here's another one about Grandmother Sonia: When he was a kid, Grazer asked her what went faster, a bee or a car, and she considered it like a real mathematical question. Grazer was young, and he said it felt nice to have an answer taken seriously by an adult. 2w

cnet This is Canary, a DIY security device similar to @Dropcam. Our appliance team reviewed it when it was released, and revisited it after a software update. We often check back in with products after a significant change, to see if the original review should be altered.
In the second round of testing, the Canary performed slightly better but still lacked key features -- for instance, the ability to auto activate the 90dB siren.

cnet Check out the new Skullcandy Grind: a modestly priced on-ear headphone that's lightweight and comfortable. Interestingly, the remote and microphone are built into the left earcup rather than the detachable cord, providing a similar setup to a wireless Bluetooth headphone. The headphone also features a metal headband and is available in several colours.

cnet Our review of the new MacBook is in. The 12-inch laptop is amazingly thin and light. It offers better battery life than other laptops with Intel's Core M processors, but performance and battery life don't quite measure up to the MacBook Air and Pro. The USB-C port allows you to charge from an external backup battery pack. And the new keyboard takes some getting used to. But if you can live with those limitations, this laptop delivers a groundbreaking design that points the way to the next chapter in laptops. Oh, and it comes in a gold color, like we have here.
