clothjulie Cutting a big cushion order today. And I've got a meter of this special edition stuffed olives grey and red print on a fine white linen left over. If anyone wants me to make a couple of cushions for them out of the remainder email me julie@clothfabric.com but be quick - I ll have my scissors out for the next hour or so then I'm outta here. 4d

clothjulie All dressed up tonight. Object has their opening - in my old shop on William st and I'm getting a special prize or something. Me and 50 others. Feels like some kind of ceremony and celebration so I'm wearing a dress shirt and a black dress and my best boots and my favourite neckpiece made by Kristen. Feels a bit posh. 5d

clothjulie Yesterday I found a piece of vintage French linen used in the 2nd world war as a mattress cover I think. It was crumpled up in a pile of forgotten stuff in the studio. Rough and coarse and stiff so I washed and tumble dried it to get it to soften. And soften it did. Beautifully. Then I had the urge to make a wrap around skirt by hand like I used to in the early Cloth days. I found an off cut of leather for the straps and spent the evening stitching in crude tacking stitches with white yarn and a darning needle whilst watching Q and A on TV in low light. I couldn't really tell what it looked like once I'd finished but this morning I tried on my creation and here it is. I think I love it. 2w
