citysage Although I posted my official #denimmadewell #contest entry yesterday, I think it's important to note the hard work and sacrifice behind that photo. Props to @ever_ours for her camera work, and a big shoutout to me for my valuable contribution in the field of triple decker ice cream cone management. 1d

citysage A successful first attempt at making overnight oats! Or as it shall henceforth be known in my house, oatmeal cookie breakfast pudding. 2d
  •   butwewillstay Haha true, but mine were not edible. Not sure where I went wrong. Must try again. What kind of oats did you use? 2d
  •   citysage @butwewillstay on no! I used trader joe's rolled oats. i've heard if you use 'quick' or 'instant' oats you'll just get mush. what oats did you use and also what ratio of oats to liquid? what made them inedible, the texture? the taste? we'll get to the bottom of this! 2d
  •   butwewillstay Probably the issue was they were quick oats, I think I tried steel cut as well. Neither worked I think for opposite reasons. Need to invest in some rolled oats. Not sure about the ratio, I was following a recipe. Do they expand? I just remember it looking about the same as when I had out them in the night before. 2d
  •   citysage @butwewillstay Mine didn't expand, no. They just got softer but not totally mushy, and there was still a smidge of unabsorbed liquid when i took them from the fridge. Lemme know if you have success next time! 2d
  •   lottalosten Saw this, found the recipe in the comments, went to the kitchen and prepared a bowl. And now it's bedtime here in Sweden. Can't wait for breakfast! 2d
  •   butwewillstay I might just try it tonight! I've been re-inspired. 2d
  •   citysage @lottalosten ooh! Love a little Instagram instagratification! 2d
  •   ericatmidkiff Oh, yum!! What a great idea. 1d

citysage Betcha this guy's hauled a lot of surfboards in his day. Or park rangers. Or park rangers who patrol our nation's waterways on surfboards. (Is that a thing? If it's not, can we make it a thing?) 6d

citysage Picked up a peppy little lavender plant at Trader Joe's today! Now taking bets on how long I can keep it looking (and smelling) this lovely. 6d
  •   citysage @moderncamper isn't it the nicest smell around the house? fortunately it smells pretty nice even when it dries up and dies :-D 6d
  •   modernmaven So pretty! 6d
  •   17thandirving Mine lasted 1 week 6d
  •   citysage @17thandirving ugh. rest in peace little lavender plant :( 6d
  •   bethanychaseauthor I just got one a couple days ago too! I have high hopes for it. 6d
  •   annettejosephstyle those are tough! good luck with it, not too much water! lots of sun. 6d
  •   stevensonkatie5 Good luck! Trader Joe's actually started my good-luck streak with plants. I picked up a gerbera daisy a couple of years ago and managed to keep it alive, so I picked up something else from them... Now I've got quite a few houseplants, and I love it! 5d

citysage A #tbt to a long-ago shoot I styled with @annstreetstudio. Sometimes when I'm mired in the quicksand of the work on my plate right now, it helps to review what I did in the past—to give myself the reminder that in five years I'll look back at today's output with the same mix of accomplishment and awe. #perspective 1w

  •   citysage @nazfilms haaaaa....I dunno. Been outta the game an awful long time. Skills might be a bit rusty... 7d
  •   citysage @10to2 OMG!! So excited to find you here! Have thought of you fondly and frequently over the years. How ARE you!? xoxoox 7d

citysage Remember when you were little and you said that when you were big you'd stay up as late as you wanted? And now that you're big all you want to do is go to bed at 6 pm? Youth truly is wasted on the young. 1w
