chroniclebooks We've been working with @sfpubliclibrary since last fall to create this year's Summer Stride reading program, featuring original art inspired by our children's book, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to School.

The illustrator, Benjamin Chaud, recreated scenes from the book to include iconic San Francisco spots. Keep your eye out for his art on transit shelters! And for our long-distance readers, we're giving away 10 tote bags, click the link in our profile to learn more.

chroniclebooks Presenting something a little different for this week's #ThisIsMyBookstore feature: the first ever Bay Area Book Festival, which took place this past weekend in Berkeley! A highlight of the weekend was Lacuna, an epic participatory art installation and library with walls made entirely of books (50,000 of them). As visitors removed books over the course of the weekend, the structure shifted and evolved, and by the end of the weekend the library had been redistributed into the hands and homes of the attendees.

It was commissioned by @baybookfest, launched on @kickstarter, and designed/fabricated by the FLUX Foundation with books donated by the Internet Archive. We’re grateful to this dream team for bringing this book temple to life! Photo credit: Hannah Suh of @hannahsuhphoto.
