  •   jamesbwebster What's the book? It's a pleasure to see your pictures from one foreigner in Paris to another. 1d
  •   christopher1019 @jamesbwebster: Hello and thank you very much. Actually it's one of my old sketchbooks I glue imagines into. 1d
  •   jamesbwebster Fantastic to see! I have scrap books too I never thought to post. 1d
  •   christopher1019 @jamesbwebster: You should post them. It usually happens with me when cleaning my desk or studio. 1d
  •   jamesbwebster Exactly my day getting ready for an open studio sometime this week sadly I am not here long enough to have brought them. I can DM you an invite if you would like? 1d
  •   christopher1019 @jamesbwebster: That would be lovely, but this week and the next are very complicated to say the least. Is there a chance to see your work another time? 1d

  •   michielkeuper Great series. I really love scrap books, seeing them as well as making them. I'm sure you know Hannah Höch's 'Album'? One of my all time favorite books. 24h
  •   christopher1019 @michielkeuper: I am familiar with her collage pieces but less with Album. I got a look and it seems beautiful. I need to look around for a copy. Thank you. 23h
  •   michielkeuper Yes, her collages are great as well. This book, Album, that was published as a facsimile some years ago, is a gem and mesmerizing in it's entirety. I could believe my luck when I came across it. She used a fashion magazine as a base. The images are fabulously juxtaposed. Try to find a copy and have look. It inspired me to make use of my image archive and create a scrap book in the same vein, as a homage to Album. Thinking of it, I should post some pages, some day :) 23h
  •   michielkeuper You probably found it already, but I got curious and looked it up. The book was published by Hatje Cantz in 2004. 23h
  •   christopher1019 @michielkeuper: You should post. I have been collecting images for decades now. Most things are from magazines and I post images from the hundreds of postcards I have. I troll the internet for images and have a couple of blogs, a defunct Facebook page and now here. It's my favorite way to communicate. Looking at some of Hoch's pages, she even predicted the cat craze that has taken over social media. Hahahahaha I will keep my eye open for a copy. 19h
  •   michielkeuper Me the same, boxes and files full of images. Magazines, newspapers etc. I agree, better to make use of them and share. Höch is a great inspiration for that. The cats, haha, you're right! Crazy. Cat crazy. For me too, IG is a very satisfying way to communicate. So far mainly pics from Internet that I've saved on my computer anyway. But I find myself juxtaposing and often one image triggers another that I remember from somewhere else, so then I spend hours finding it in my archive. It can be a big time waster... But then I'll tell myself it's all work, in a way. Yes, posting the scrapbooks, I'll think about it. Might be nice indeed. I love yours a lot. Thanks for sharing. 7h
  •   christopher1019 @michielkeuper: The FB page I had was more stream of conscious as it was so easy to post. My tumblr is pretty much the same, it's like automatic posting. One image leads to another. The mandate for my IG is to post mostly what is in front of me at the time, or an inspiration that just pops up. You're right, it is all work and it comes to some greater meaning later. As long as I don't resort to endless self-portraits I think it's okay. I really enjoy your posts. Quite often they are of my favorite images. It's especially nice to get glimpses of your work. 6h
  •   michielkeuper Thank you, that's very kind. I find myself still a bit shy to post too much of my own work I guess. It's another kind of selfie, right? A work selfie. But then, maybe I shouldn't be so self conscious. In other accounts those are often the posts that I enjoy most. Like yours for example! My rule, or mandate as you call it, is to only post my work when it kind of fits in the stream that I'm building. But maybe that's a superfluous justification, since any post is personal or a selfie for that matter. Sorry for getting all too philosophical here, haha. I love your take on IG, to post what is in front of you. And I did love your FB account a lot. I miss it. But yes, posting nice stuff on FB often feels in vain or like casting pearls before swines... IG is definitely the better platform for sharing images and finding kindred spirits. Is your tumblr under your name? Now I'd like to check it out. 5h
