christinebri If you had the opportunity to shift ALL of your creative energy onto your own projects (business, volunteer or otherwise) what would you do? How would you prioritize all the new options and possibilities? Would you feel fragmented or feel sure of your path? #fragment 8h

christinebri I had the pleasure of watching a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 5 last night. I havent been to a symphony in a long time. Growing up a classical piano player, watching symphonies mesmerized me. In the busy years of adulthood, I had all but forgotten the grandeur of the experience.

Music is incredibly powerful. It influences us or melds with the energy of our mood. How many of us shift change our music playlist based on our moods? I know I do. Why?

Well, my little hypothesis is that, because soundwaves resonate at varied frequencies, and because different frequencies of sound evoke varied feelings within us, the sound's frequencies and our emotional frequencies must meld at some point. The mood and the music that we are attracted to during that mood must have some similar resonance.

During my time at this symphony, I watched the musicians intently. I watched the emotions of their faces and bodies. I watched how they danced with their violins and trumpets and symbols.

They emotionally became one with the music, projecting the very feelings that Mahler must have originally projected into the composition.

Not so long ago, when symphonies were a mainstream form of entertainment, there were no movies or TV, there were no crazy Miley Cyrus concerts, but there were intense music performances in which many musicians would come together to form one organism, an orchestra, to emote music in such a way that the audience could feel every feeling the composer had channeled into the piece. Powerful.

Anyway, to experience a symphony once again as an adult was incredibly profound and rewarding. I highly suggest putting it on your list of important things to do. Fight the 21st century lack of attention span, opt to be observant and you will be blown away.

  •   mallatin This is probably one of the best/most important posts I've seen on Instagram. The raw power, emotion, and genius that come through not only in a live symphonic performance, but classical music in general harnesses the roots and inspiration for music over the past 100 years. More importantly what happens emotionally and chemically when we listen to a performance, especially live, can only be truly understood when personally experienced. I could go on, but your post is homework enough for everyone :) I'm not sure your experience with Mahler, so I hope you keep listening to more of his work. I've never listened to someone's music and felt what they were feeling as I listened to it. As he suffered when he wrote, so too does the listener (9th symphony). When we hear the madness in his writing, we too begin to feel anxious and manic (7th symphony). When he loved as he wrote, we hear and feel that same love (8th symphony). To be connected so closely to someone who has been dead for over a century through their compositions proves that music has the ability to transcend time and space. 2d
  •   christinebri @mallatin YES. Visual art can do the same thing in an extremely awe inspiring fashion as well. Then when we add sound to the visual aspects of watching live music AND feel the vibration of the instruments... the sensory stimuli can truly take us to a separate dimension so easily 2d

How to Understand People “Why would I want to understand people?” you may ask. Well, understanding other people gives us a deeper understanding of ourselves. A deeper understanding of ourselves gives us a deeper understanding of the world we live in, a deeper understanding of life, and a deeper understanding of God / Universe / All-That-Is. When we have a deeper understanding of life and realize how much control we actually have over our own reality, and when we understand the people who share this planet and our reality with us, well, life just becomes that much better...

christinebri Monday Jumpstart - Create Your Life

To see the rest of the video head over to www.temeritymovement.com

How do you feel about Mondays? Mondays are a mental restart day for us, which gives us fresh perspective for the week. Fresh perspective to create your life!

In the process of life we have some options... we can choose to let life happen to us, to observe our surroundings and situations and simply accept them OR we can choose to create our lives. We can choose what we want to do for work, who our friends are, what our dating life looks like, how much money we make and WHAT we do to make that money. But... you have to CHOOSE to create these things.

You choose to create the vision and then follow through by allowing it to happen. If you base your life simply on what you have already observed and known to be true, you're dramatically limiting your possibilities. You see, we are all unique and have different desires, strengths, purposes... that should tell you that we have SOOO many life possibilities that haven't been brought to fruition by our current knowledge yet. Do you want to do work that allows you enough money to do the things you want to do, take care of your family, AND allows you freedom to travel and enjoy sunshine on a regular basis? You can have that! But you need to envision it and allow the pieces to flow together. As soon as you stop believing it because someone told you it was impossible, you're stopping that flow. Believe it.

Choose to create.

Use Monday restart as a day to envision it!
