charlesdharapak #throwbackthursday June 1996 Rangoon, Burma -- that's me on the right (shooting video for Associated Press Television) and photojournalist, legend, and gentleman Apichart Weerawong at Aung San Suu Kyi's house during a National League for Democracy party congress. Apichart, who was working for a competing news agency at the time, later joined AP Bangkok in 1998. He is a veteran of covering Thai coups, civil war in Cambodia, plane crashes, natural disasters, protests, and regional politics over the past decades. One of his most famous photos in recent years was of Johnny and Luther Htoo, Myanmar's "God's Army" twins (in the photograph one of the young brothers is smoking a Burmese cigarette). Apichart is retiring from a career in photojournalism today and is looking forward to spending time with his family in Chiang Mai. Congratulations! You've taught me a lot and I will miss you! #tbt 5d

charlesdharapak Photographers love camera bags. I don't know how many Billingham, Domke, Tenba, LowePro, and ThinkTank Pro bags I've accumulated over the years. The same goes with my love for good cases for by musical instruments. Wanted to show off my new fiberglass case custom fit to my King Super 20 Tenor #saxophone and Yamaha soprano made by Michael Manning in NYC. Feels great with the backpack straps and you can carry it aboard a plane and it's tough enough to check in the cargo hold. My vintage horns are safe! 2w
