chancecraven Good morning, Friends!! Let's make a difference in someone's life today. Pay for a cup of coffee. Take someone to lunch. Call someone to see how they're doing or surprise them with a gift. Be generous. Be like Jesus. - - "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 2w

chancecraven An abandoned Church on the campus of the South Carolina State Hospital. There is literally an entire city, abandoned on the former Insane Asylum property. It's crazy! - - I have spent the majority of tonight reading about the history of this hospital and South Carolina's history of caring for people with mental health problems. We (SC) were the second state, after Virginia, to pass legislation that provided funding for the care and treatment of the mentally ill... On December 20, 1821. The common theme then and today, 194 years later, is a lack of proper planning and the money to do things right. **Click the link in my profile to learn more. Super fascinating! To me at least** 2w

chancecraven The South Carolina State House! Construction began in 1851 and wasn't fully completed until 1907... A 56 year construction project. - - The bronze star on the left hand side of this photo is one of six stars on the exterior of the State House. On February 17th, 1865, General Sherman and the Union Army entered Columbia. Each star marks where the State House was hit by Sherman's cannons. 2w

chancecraven The Babcock Building was designed 157 years ago and construction was completed several years later, in 1885. Construction was delayed because of the Civil War and a lack of funding. - - Today the vacant Insane Asylum is a part of the 165 acre Bull Street Development. It's the largest project of its type, East of the Mississippi. Retail, Residential and even a Baseball stadium will soon be built here. And who knows what it'll look like 150 years from now... In the year 2165. 2w

chancecraven Every night Katie and I lay in bed, scrolling through our phones, looking at every photo we've ever taken of Elijah. Every night. The same photos... We have issues! - - This photo was taken last fall while picking apples on the side of a mountain. It's crazy how much has changed since then! 3w

chancecraven Sometimes I don't want to read the bible... I'd rather wake up and scroll through Instagram, check facebook and read a few tweets. Or I'd rather just get a cup of coffee and eat some bacon to start my day. And that's ok. - - Jesus Christ doesn't love me anymore or less based on my performance as a Christian. Reading the bible is important and it's full of wisdom... But sometimes I need to be reminded that someone else is flying with me rather than reading a verse about birds in the air. Sometimes I need to experience love more than I need to read about it. That being said, love someone today. You may be their reminder of God's love, or their introduction to who God is. 3w

chancecraven There are many reasons I married my wife... Two of them that are obvious? She always manages to make a special day beautiful and she uses jelly beans as decorations. - - Happy Easter, everyone! 3w

chancecraven Today was awesome... And then this happened! These are a few of the moments we laughed about and I'm thankful we have them on film. - - It is crazy to me that Elijah is almost 14 months old. Some days I feel like he was born yesterday, other days I feel like he's about to start driving. Parenthood is crazy. 3w

chancecraven A back porch, incredible weather, a smoking hot wife and a beautiful, healthy baby boy... These are the things that perfect Saturday's are made of! 3w

chancecraven "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." 1 Corinthians 9:24 - - Sounds to me like God created us to hustle and outwork our competition. We're not meant to be sideline sitters, or even participants, we are created to win!! 3w

chancecraven Winner winner chicken dinner! - - I appreciate everyone taking the time to provide feedback on the three different "RL's" that I posted earlier this week. You told me what you thought, gave some feedback and helped me decide. Thank you! 3w

chancecraven Instagram makes my life look fun, adventurous, clean and organized. All the photos are the same shape, they look good and I'm able to edit what I don't like. It's social media! - - In real life, I got in an argument with my wife this morning over something stupid and I left the house without saying I'm sorry. My SD card committed digital suicide yesterday and I lost a half days work that I'm reshooting in the rain today. I've got a meeting this afternoon that I want to cancel, but won't. And then there is the fact I turn 30 this year and look at what some of my friends have accomplished in their 20's... And begin to doubt what I've done with the last ten years of my life. Sometimes I beat myself up when no one else is even coming after me. - - Moral of the story, some times people post beautiful pictures from dark places. Never assume you know what's going on. Ask how your friends are doing from time to time and be relational. Be intentional. Be honest. #potsc 3w

chancecraven This morning's video was a result of cramming 40lbs of camera gear, batteries and a drone into a pack and then hiking to the middle of no where with it on my back. - - Doesn't matter if it's the ocean, lake or a creek running through the middle of the woods, water is awesome. 3w

chancecraven Ever wondered what a 75' waterfall looks like from above? Now you know. - - Today's the final day of drone work for some friends who are making a difference in people's lives! Can't wait to put all of these shots together and share the entire thing. 3w
  •   chancecraven @ericandrewphoto it's already paid for itself in the work I received just by having it! You should definitely do it. Let's grab lunch next time I'm in town. 3w
  •   chancecraven @lumberjosh I never thought I'd move away from the beach and be happy... Waterfalls, mountains and crystal clear lakes make everything ok! 3w

  •   lumberjosh @chancecraven I have been dying to leave the beach for the mountains for five years. When I'm out of diesel mechanic school i want to move up there and work and live. I found me a lady who appreciates the same things too so it's great! 3w

chancecraven Which one do you like the best?! Left. Middle. Or Right. - - They're all subtle changes, but I'm having a hard time picking one of these three. Thanks for your help! 3w

chancecraven Going up on a Tuesday! - - Another quick clip shot and edited on the iPhone. If you hold your finger down on the screen with the camera app open, you can lock both the auto focus and auto exposure features to one area. This is what makes the elevator shot possible, without the exposure changing when the doors open or the camera trying to refocus. Try it! 3w
