chaiwalla That time @badtzxo, @chrisconnolly & I were just about to give up on a disappointing and bland NYC sunset when BANG we were treated to about five incredible minutes of this. People were stopping in their tracks in awe. This was a special moment. There was no tinkering done to this picture. None whatsoever. Except a crop. #whereswallaUSA 5d

chaiwalla #allofthelights. Who is your current favourite Instagramer that takes photos in a style that's different to your own? Mine is @idalaerke. With honorary mentions to @jasonmpeterson and @sejkko. 6d

chaiwalla Motorcycle Diaries. Decided to go on 6 hour bike ride around the desert. With roads like this it was seriously tough and at first I wished I had a motorbike or to of just stayed at the hostel... however I really got into it and the scenery was so beautiful, quiet, desolate, rugged and unique that I actually really enjoyed myself. I think it's quite an achievement when you travel alone and you get to a stage where you can feel completely content and comfortable alone in solitude moments like this! #whereswallaperu 7d

chaiwalla London. I've been missing home a helluva lot during my travels and I think of London and all my friends a lot. However today I discovered that I have to be back in March so I've under 3 months to go on the road. That doesn't actually feel like long and has made me realise I better make the most of each day and appreciate the lifestyle I'm currently living whilst I can! This shot is another I haven't posted before but found it on the camera roll. Sick of my old 16GB 5S getting filled up so I'm going to clear the camera roll on Jan 1st. 1w

chaiwalla Running away from fear, towards change.

Found this shot on my camera roll. It was taken last winter in Sweden. The girl in the picture is my sister and one of my biggest idols. She's done a lot of traveling and recently, with a hell of a lot of hard work, commitment and drive set up a successful brunch cafe in Stockholm @greasyspooncafe. Boy after being on the road for three months am I craving their Full English!! Anyhow, this isn't a post to promote the cafe but rather a spontaneous one and one to say thanks to my sister for being an inspiration. Try not to let fear rule your life. Take risks. Ciao for now!

chaiwalla I swear, I swear, please believe me... this is a #nofilter! the lake really was that blue!

I decided not to give up on the Cordillera Blanca mountain range; everything was shut on Sunday, protests and roadblocks on Monday and Tuesday and rain and fog dampening moods until Friday. However I stuck it out and It was the best decision to stay that extra day. This steep hike up to Laguna 69 was 100% the most incredible "one day" hike I have ever done. This glacial lake sitting over 4400m above sea level is nothing but spectacular. The sun also shone for hours and I was finally given a glimpse of the beautiful surrounding mountain scenery. I've simply got to come back and explore more one day in the near future! #iphone5s #fiftyfifty #whereswallaperu

chaiwalla I am just back from the 4 day Santa Cruz hike within the Huascarán national park in Peru. It's meant to be one of the most stunning hikes within South American. I sadly wouldn't know as we got hit by really bad weather and couldn't see much past the rain and fog! On the plus side however I did get to come across this cute calf and her red headed mother. 3w

chaiwalla Final few steps to the end of the world. Well, it certainly felt like that. Climbing Cotopaxi has fuelled my desire to do some more hikes whilst I am travelling down the Andes. I've got to make the most of these glorious mountains before I head back home. You just can't beat that visual and sensory rush that comes from seeing the view from the top!

chaiwalla Oh hello little fella!! Back from the Galapagos and missing these happy and lazy wee furballs. It's really amazing how close you can get to the wildlife on the Galápagos Islands. They're really just not fussed about you being there. Well all animals apart from the "rejected" group of male sealions. They're sometimes a little grumpy, but it's obvious why. Poor lonely things.
So happy Friday all. And thanks to those (you know who you are) that have sent me kind words asking where I have been hiding. I've been in quite a few places that don't have wifi and I've had my head down learning español. I promise to post more regularly again now. I'm also off to the mountain ranges around Huaraz, Peru so should accumulate a ton of pictures worthy of being shared. Que tenga un lindo día!

chaiwalla Two tiny climbers up ahead. I always thought over each ridge there would be the summit... but then there was always more to climb! Although I struggled with altitude at around 5300m for a few hours it somehow went and when the sun came up I had renewed bursts of energy. However I still collapsed (triumphantly) at the top! #volcancotopaxi #whereswallaecuador
I am off to the Galapagos for 8 days now. See you on the other side!!

chaiwalla An alien like glacial creature on Cotopaxi volcano! I passed by this fascinating scene as I hiked up Cotopaxi through the night, my headlamp lit up its icicled covered body and in my exhausted, and quite delirious, state my jaw dropped. I just had to stop to take a picture on the way down. I actually wanted to take more, and better, pictures than I did but my guide took the risks of the volcano seriously and wouldn't let me stop too much. When the sun rises and the snow starts to warm there is a very high risk of an avalanche you see. #whereswallaecuador #storyfrommytravels @kodakmoments_uk #kodakmoment 1mon

chaiwalla Laura taking a moment to take in the dense jungle scenery that surrounded her… and to make a decision on whether to jump 10ft into the natural pool below. After hiking just 1 hour of day 1 in of our Ciudad Perdida (Lost City) hike in Colombia diving into cool water was incredibly appealing due to the crazy humidities we had to battle with.

chaiwalla I think the fashion of the indigenous Ecuadorian people is so great. They're all so smart and well presented and the women wear wonderful brightly coloured throws. The fancy hats, with decorative feathers, complete the look. Here I took a photo from behind as they're quite shy and as we were pretty much the only tourists at this remote (and fascinating!) market I didn't want to be sticking my camera in their face. #whereswallaecuador 2mon

chaiwalla Remembering one of the greatest sunsets of my life with one of the greatest humans, Alan. We had made quite a last minute decision to attempt the hike to Kvalvika Beach (Lofotens, Norway) and with time running out we had to make a rapid and steep one hour hike up a boulder strewn landscape to get over the west facing summit. As we past the peak we were greeted with the most stunning view of the white sand cove below and as we sat to collect our breath the sun started to set the scene turned the most amazing colour. I just had to get a portrait of my buddy Alan to record and remember the moment. Here in this shot I played with double exposure so I could get the silhouette of the cliff to frame Alan.

For the second time since I've been in South America I've been invited by a farmer into his his farm to try some incredible fresh fruit. I've been really blown away by the friendliness and kindness of the Ecuadorian and Colombia people that I've met so far on my travels. #gimmemora #whereswallaecuador

chaiwalla Finding a French bakery in South America. Priceless.

The best thing about the whole experience was the smell. And that the shop was absolutely tiny and three of us with giant backpacks went in and bought a quarter of the shops contents. We're doing a mountain bike ride down Chimborazo volcano today so we wanted to stock up on treats! #whereswallaecuador #imissgoodbread
