Each component is prepared separately for maximum flavor, then assembled as a group and slow cooked, rather than throwing it all in one pot and boiling the piss out of it. So damn good.

  •   unrulychristiandad 1947, my mom and dad were newly married and mom (who never could cook) decided to make dad (a really good cook) what she new was a favorite St Patrick's Day meal; my dad, a Frenchman, was born on St Patrick's Day. So, into the pot goes a roast, head of cabbage, and two cans of creamed corn, and all into the oven. Dad walked into the tiny apartment to the sickening sweet smell of burning creamed corn and cabbage. She rarely cooked again after that, but the story was retold a million times around this time of year, and a few glasses of wine. Mom and Dad are both gone now, but not from my heart or memories. Happy St Patrick's Day to all! 2mon

chadsarno Homemade Sriracha. @wickedhealthy and so #wickedgood. Fermented and ready to reduce.
1.5 lb Fresno chiles, stem removed and cleaned.
3 T coconut or brown sugar.
1 T sea salt.
4 cloves garlic. is fermented and ready to go.
Start off by blending all. Pour into jars and place lid on loosely. Set on counter and stir every day. Once fermented for 7 days, blend with 1/4 c vinegar. Strain through fine strainer into small pot. On medium heat, reduce for 15 minutes or so until it sauce coats a spoon. Jar and put on everything. #sriracha #spiceoflife #wickedhealthy. Ingredients:
1/2 jar Radish kimchi
1/2 head cabbage, lg dice
1 clove garlic, karate chopped
1 tsp canola
1 tsp sesame oil
1 red jalapeno, sliced thin
1.5 cups left over brown rice
Cilantro sprigs
Salt
Pepper

Method:
Heat skillet on med-high heat, add canola and cabbage and let darken/burn a bit
Add garlic, stir slightly and continue to burn cabbage ends. Add in kimchi, sesame, jalapeno and rice.  Wait a second to stir.
Ok stir now, to incorporate everything. Season.
Pull off of heat, plate and top with cilantro.
