ceefor What a weekend. Today was awesome - we shot the first episode of Beer & Other Shit TV over at Parkway Resto Bar, the second stage of the BAOS brand expansion. Huge props to my cohost @drunken_fiddler_recordings, we held it down proper when @scottbeercole couldn't be there in person. Massive thank yous to @peterparkway.og for the beer and letting us use the venue, and to Andy for his technical help. Co-director and camera operator @starlexis on the photo. Of course, @brewheads and @originalgentlemenMTL remain the sponsors. Check 'em out. Cheers! 9h

ceefor #1702 Molson O'Keefe (Canada)

Today we're shooting the first episode of the Beer & Other Shit YouTube series, and the homie @peterparkway.og hit me with this Québécois classic O'Keefe. It ain't even in Untappd. Maybe it's my early morning palate but this isn't horrible. It's clearly a crappy macro but Pete tells me it's a really old beer - prolly the equivalent of Labatt 50. Hipsters would love it, mate.

ceefor #1701 Beau's D.O.A. Hardcore 8.1 (Canada)

The folks at @beausallnatural just wins at beer. I copped this on my born day a few weeks back. It's an 8.1% strong ale, the liquor is immediate - malty, little head and easy to drink. I dig it.

ceefor Next show! I rarely play live in Montreal but the opportunity came up - courtesy of the homie Tek Luciano from Heavy Hitters Radio - so I had to take it. Catch me rocking on Thursday May 21st at Le Belmont. Might have a special guest. Finna be fun as, mate. 2d

ceefor #1700 Yukon Gold (Canada)

Seventeen hunnid. Bam. So this is an English Pale Ale but the shit tastes like a lager. Kinda disappointed, B. It's a flat out 5%, easy drinking, patio lager. Tastes fine, nothing macro about it, nice and crisp, malty and smooth, no issues. I dig it. But don't call it a pale ale, bruh.

ceefor When the homie @craigharrietha was living in Melbs, we did it up proper. Our bodyboard game was vicious. I miss living near a beach. My nipples were raw as fuck after that, though. Torquay, 2006. #tbt #throwbackthursday 4d

ceefor #1699 Trafalgar Chocolate Orange Porter (Canada)

Man I've had this in the fridge since like Christmas and I'm glad we brought it out. It's pretty much like drinking a Jaffa (for my Aussies). Zero head, a ton of orange on the nose (seems almost artificial but it apparently is just the orange peel), bitter chocolatey bite up front, followed by even more orange and a sweet finish. The lack of carbonation lets it down; not sure if it's just my bottle though. Wish I had some chocolate handy to munch with it. Great dessert beer.

ceefor #1698 Trafalgar The Mighty Oak (Canada)

Trafalgar is usually solid and this 7% imperial brown ale doesn't stray from the norm. Dick all head, clear light brown colour, it's sweet and slightly bitter, oaky malt with a molasses like finish. I fucks widdit, mate.

ceefor #1697 Buxton Jaw Gate (England)

I rarely drink on week nights but as it's getting hotter, I just fucking feel like drinking. For those who assume I'm an alcoholic coz of the numbers, it ain't that real, B. Everything is split with my lady, and I only drink on weekends. I've had this in the fridge for ages but didn't realize it was a British version of an American Pale Ale. Damn it. It's solid; sitting at a sessionable 5.6%, it's cloudy and amber, wicked piney nose, bitters musty mouthfeel with a lingering sweetness thrown in there, yet not overly hoppy. Dig, I fucks widdit, mate.

ceefor #1696 Shock Top Raspberry White (USA)

Of course I'm not gonna go out of my way to murk a macro, however I've heard a bit of decent feedback about the Shock Top range from my non-BrewHead homies and figured it was worth a go. This 5.2% raspberry wheat joint is not horrible. Golden and cloudy, it's kinda like a slightly sweet KLB Raspberry Wheat (for my Ontarians). Slightly bitter, syrupy raspberry sweetness in the mouth (and a touch in the nose), with a lingering bitter/tart finish. I ain't mad, son.

ceefor #1695 Double Trouble French Press Vanilla Stout (Canada)

I've been super keen on this for ages. I fucking love vanilla stouts and porters, mate. This fella is 4.8% from Guelph, ON, commonly known as G-Town (Geelong what, cunt), and it's super vanilla-y eh. There's touches of coffee and chocolate, it's probably closer to a porter even, actually. Bitter finish. I really enjoy this shit. Get it up ya.

ceefor This is the original mirror from the cover art of my debut solo mixtape 'The Indie Experiment' in 2012. The homie @iskanderbenamor was shooting it, @joshuatelfer hand drew my logo on the mirror with lipstick, and @starlexis was the model (in all three volumes). This was an important project for me. I'd only ever released music in groups so going solo was a huge leap, especially after dropping tunes for a decade (at that point). I figured I should come out with something different, and I really think I came with an angle that I've never seen anyone do before, nor to this day. One day it'll get its shine. Captured by @scottbeercole. 1w

ceefor #1694 Boréale Nokturn IPA Noire (Canada)

Quebec brewery Boréale dropped three new special edition IPAs on that ass (with an imperial IPA and a rousse IPA), so I figured I should kick it off with their black IPA joint. It's 6% even, super musty (like more than home brew), fuck all head, it has a huge scotch barrel nose with strong coffee and chocolate notes in the body. There's a lingering bitter boozey finish, which wraps it up nicely. I've had better but this is a decent effort at a style that doesn't get the love it deserves.

ceefor #1693 Creemore Springs Lot 9 Traditional Pilsner (Canada)

I'm trying this ahead of a Beer & Other Shit related project we have in the work, and by golly is it garbage. It's a 4.7% pils, which apparently exists coz Molson - the macro overlords of Creemore - needed a Pilsner in their line. Usually Creemore are solid but this just screams 'Adjunct!' Watery, light with some bready malt flavour balanced by that typical adjunct tang that makes a craft fan cringe. I can't do this shit. Avoid.

ceefor #1692 Railway City Sham Bock (Canada)

Word to maple bocks. This bloke is a 5.8% joint with a cool ass all-over print bottle. It's bready and malty, small but frothy head, nice sweet undercurrent (likely from the maple), with a nice lingering tang. I like this shit, mate.

ceefor Four photos for four years. @starlexis is so good to me that she even appears in damn near every one of my videos, and three of my mixtape covers. That's love right there. Photo by @iskanderbenamor. Toronto, 2012. #TBT #throwbackthursday #HeartingDay 2w
