cbalke Remember the guy that went crazy in the Double Rainbow video, well that was our buddy Steve earlier this week. Except Steve was going crazy over the stars. With views from your tent like this you can't really blame him though. Seeing the stars so clearly really makes you think about how small we really are. It's crazy to think the light we see from our sun traveled for 8 min to reach us, light from the Milky Way can take 10's of thousands of years and the light from the Andromeda Galaxy that we see today left it approximately 2 million years ago. 1w

cbalke Here's one last Milky Way shot from our camp site at Crown Lake. I liked how the glow from my Direkt2 tent lit up the rock nearby. I wish I would have shot this in landscape and stitched additional shots to get the height I wanted though. 1w

cbalke Finally had the chance to spend a couple days backpacking in the Twin Lakes area of the Hoover Wilderness. What an amazing area! I loved the variety of the trail as we hiked through treed forest to a high desert climate and then through Aspen groves, granite sections, and Pine groves. 1w
  •   syeed72 Beautiful shot! 1w
  •   cbalke @syeed72 Thanks Syeed! I was imagining what everything would look like under a blanket of snow. I need to get back there during winter. 1w

cbalke Eastern Span of the Bay Bridge. I can't believe how quickly they've demolished the old span. The local family of raccoons didn't like me hanging around taking pictures. 3w

cbalke It's really cool how the Crystal Ranges' runoff wanders it's way down this grassy channel and into Wrights Lake. I want to go back to see how far you're able to paddle up it. 2mon
