carly_webber I'm utterly fascinated by people's stories; the diversity of their journey, their history, their challenges, their resilience, and their dreams & ambitions.
I haven't got a clue what I'm doing, what I'm aiming toward, or what I am trying to achieve, but I know for sure I would like to meet and capture as many amazing individuals as I can, while I figure it all out.
This is Hannah. Sharing with me her beautiful culture, her values, and memories from her childhood. I've put together her words with a series of my images on the blog and you can read those at :

(or click the link in my bio).
Thank you everyone who follows, and to @huni_ba for being a part of my story.

I am a child of the Dreamtime People
Part of this Land, like the gnarled gumtree
I am the river, softly singing
Chanting our songs on my way to the sea
My spirit is the dust-devils
Mirages, that dance on the plain
I'm the snow, the wind and the falling rain
I'm part of the rocks and the red desert earth
Red as the blood that flows in my veins
I am eagle, crow and snake that glides
Thorough the rain-forest that clings to the mountainside
I awakened here when the earth was new
There was emu, wombat, kangaroo
No other man of a different hue
I am this land
And this land is me
I am Australia.

Going through these gorgeous paper samples and test prints from @thirdsfineartprinting. They are divine! Decisions decisions. Although one decision is made; I will probably never print on traditional photographic paper ever again......
Thank you Tim + Vanessa!

"I graduated in a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology. Health and well being was a big focus for me while growing up and I have always known that Indigenous health was an area in which I was passionate about. By far this is one of the greatest accomplishments I have achieved for myself, my family, and as a role model to other indigenous youth. There is an army of Indigenous and non-indigenous people who are working towards a brighter future for our people – I just hope that it happens in my lifetime, to witness our mob excel in all areas."

carly_webber Yesterday we filled our tiny garage with flour and set out to make a beautiful mess. I sent in @brooketthompson, filled her gorgeous long hair with white powder, and she danced.
While I've far from perfected my timing, lighting and flour skills, we created some amazing images of movement, calm and chaos.
Definitely doing this again...

carly_webber The Aftermath.
Just finished making a whole lotta mess! More behind the scenes photos can be found on my Facebook page - but thank you @brooketthompson for being crazy enough to say yes to this. And my amazing and ever patient husband @officialleewebber for handling the bulk of the clean up, and flour disposal.
Scones anyone?

"Ever since I was 3 years old, the dance studio has been my second home. Through all of the concerts, competitions, costumes, hairspray, injuries and friends I’ve made; my experiences on and off stage have taught me so many things about myself, and about life in general."

"I've had more than a few close calls on a board. I was about 13 and skating Pizzey Park bowl, which is an infamously sketchy 10ft bowl built in the 80's on the Gold Coast. Being young and untouchable, I was skating it alone, without safety gear. As you do!
I was casually warming up when my rear truck got 'hung up' whilst doing a 50/50 stall, which stopped the board dead, sending me headfirst down a 10ft drop. I remember waking up and stumbling around the bowl looking for my board before stumbling the 500m back to the old skatepark where somebody drove me to mums work. When she didn't yell at me, I knew it had to be bad!
Not only was I lucky I didn't do any serious damage from faceplanting the ground, but the end of the bowl is just 3 metres away from what was a muddy weed infested lake; that day could have ended very differently! 18 years later I still have a lump on my forehead as a reminder, needless to say I never skated Pizzey bowl again...."

"Elders are apart of a time capsule from the time before you are born; they are story tellers and they are the key to holding a family together. This was indeed my grandmother. I recall a time of happiness when my grandmother was alive, and every Christmas she would hold a family gathering at her house to ensure all her family were together – all 13 of her children, some 60 grandchildren, and probably around 20 great grandchildren if I could take a wild guess. She was the glue to our family; an elder that was a provider, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to many."

"Ballet is made to look effortless, but to be honest it's no walk in the park. You spend hours standing in front of a mirror judging and correcting yourself so every movement looks perfect and easy. Ballet takes a lot more strength and physical toll than outsiders really understand."

"Whats the worst stack you've had skateboarding?"
"Hahaha, I've hurt myself so often I can't really think of individual moments, it's just a decade and a half of pain. I started having severe back pain when I was about 16, I've lived with back pain every day of my life since. I don't regret a thing, but I do wish I looked after myself better. Skating is physically brutal."
