carly_webber I bought this dress on eBay for $20 and I LOVE it! I've used it in two 'for fun' photoshoots, and posted a call out on my FB page, looking for someone with beautiful long red hair, to wear it for a third. Know anyone in Brisbane who might like to come and play?? 12h

carly_webber More parcels! A beautifully packaged USB containing the precious digital files of our family portraits arrived. Blessed to have had Madeline Druce Photography in our home last month, capturing our family in the most genuine and relaxing way. Still working on the difficult job of selecting images for the album, because we all know, the most important stories and memories are not meant to be trapped in megapixels. 18h

carly_webber I love photographing people move, they let go. And it's fun. The original colour version is posted on my blog #tumblr (link in profile). Check it out. 1d

carly_webber "The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself."

carly_webber Let it Go. A great reminder and one of my treasures picked up from @innercompassdesigns at the Brisbane Suitcase Rummage over the weekend. 1d

carly_webber My plan for this shoot was to overlay her own hand drawn art onto the portrait in photoshop. It was to be an extension of her, as an artist, and to further personalise her portraits. We never got around to adding the sketch which was really unfortunate, but it's something I'd like to retry if I get the opportunity to photograph another artists. 2d

carly_webber When I asked her how she wanted to be photographed, she said "with confetti and pink flamingos". And so that's just what we did. 2d

carly_webber Early morning skydiver. There is a landing zone not far from our house so every weekend we see and HEAR the excited adrenaline junkies descend from the skies in their colourful parachutes. Would you leap out of plane at 14,000ft?? 3d

carly_webber I'm a hack. The Kiwi DIY'er is strong in me, and I usually attempt to make everything for nothing. Sometimes I win, and sometimes I learn. Yesterday I learnt. I learnt that when you dye an enormous piece of canvas black, it will come out purple. Violet in fact. It's meant to be a temp photo backdrop for a personal film project, one I can 'make do' with until I purchase the real deal. Fortunately for me it photographs better than it looks, and if I underexpose it a stop or two, it might just work. 3d

carly_webber From my first roll of Fujifilm. Taking a roll of Portra and TMax to the city tomorrow. I have some other types of 35mm film in the fridge, and more ordered and their way. Still getting the hang of how to shoot each type and seeing which one I lean towards as a favourite. Only way to answer that is - shoot more film! 4d

carly_webber A year ago I began to explore studio lighting. Dancer and Swagamama crew member Mark joined me in a studio and I've posted a few of my favourite frames to my blog/tumblr. I like looking back to the beginning and realising how much I've learnt and evolved my style as an artist since. 4d

carly_webber Teddy Toast. Food can be a struggle with our eldest. His need for constant movement and the array of sensory information around food make mealtimes a challenge. This was a small victory though. We'll be seeing more animals plated I think. 4d

carly_webber Planting a garden was a large part if our plan to live a more sustainable and simple life. The trouble is, there is nothing simple about growing your own produce! We've all put so much into our humble veggie patch... and as amber tire Gardeners, we are still trying to figured it out. From the right nutrients and soil, to planting complementary plants; We've warded of possums and suffered loss at the hands and paws of our little 'helpers'. Yet despite the sad looking carrot tops, and the yellowing tomato plants, we've manage to taste success today with a couple of pea pods. 3 to be exact. Each with 4 succulent and tasty green peas inside. Not a huge return on investment I know, but it is early days and encouraging to see I'm not a total black thumb 5d
  •   anyamaria Hahaha I feel the same way every year @carly_webber and would love to find the solution! That's one good looking pea xx 5d
  •   carly_webber Thanks @anyamaria not quite a meal though (not even one each) LOL Trying some seaweed on the garden and started making our own compost last week too. It's a lot of work isn't it? Rewarding though - never before have I been so excited over 4 little peas! 5d
  •   anyamaria We're building a new garden bed @carly_webber so I'm hoping to have a little more success this year. Our tomatoes have always gone so well in pots, so here's to adding a few more vegetables! It is such hard work but rewarding when you eat your own :) my nonno's garden bed in Italy put mine to shame! Wish I could bring him down to help me with it. 5d
  •   carly_webber We have tomatoes in pots/buckets too @anyamaria they just flowered yesterday. But the leaves look so yellow Hoping we get some fruit. My family all have gardens in NZ and they do well too. Maybe it's because they get rain! 5d
