carly_webber I'm haven't shot a lot of landscape or street photography, so I took the Minolta x300 and a roll of trix out to practice. Of 36 shots I think this is the only one I like! I feel a bit lost in this genre, but not giving up just yet. 1d
  •   carly_webber Thank you Matteo @pellegrinuzzi 1d

  •   peter_burmann So glad to hear I'm not the only one keeping the classic old Minolta's alive!! I have the x700 with the auto g-winder! Amazing sound...the REAL sound of 80'ies electro mechanism pulling the film forward after each shot! I simply love it!!! :) Great picture btw 1d
  •   carly_webber Thanks @lumiaguy 1d
  •   carly_webber @peter_burmann my first SLR was the Seagull DF300x (the later plastic version of the Minolta x300). I got it second hand in 1995 and recently tried to use it again. Unfortunately the electronics in the shutter are aged beyond repair. Bought the Minolta as a replacement and still using the same minolta zoom lens I had on the Seagull. I love it. Always forget to manually advance the film though 1d
  •   carly_webber Oh and thank you Peter @peter_burmann 1d

carly_webber I had the privilege of meeting this awesome lady, and one half of @aleandkim, late yesterday afternoon. We shot double exposures with the Land Camera, talked of film and travel, and got dive bombed by magpies. Almost perfect way to close out the day. 5d

carly_webber I'm looking forward I shooting more film. I love this photo of Sammy, shot with the Nikon F100 - but it's the Mamiya I want to really get comfortable with. Will be looking for more people to photograph over the next couple of weeks. Head to my FB page where I'll post details of when and where (link in profile). carly_webber I saved three frames on a roll of 120mm Portra to test a new sync lead; connecting the Mamiya C330 to a cheep generic speed light & umbrella softbox. I also dyed a large painters canvas drop cloth black (you might remember seeing it..... it came out VIOLET!) and hung it in our garage. This is the result! Set up cost $650... and that includes the camera. Boom!
Still need to work on manually focusing the Mamiya, but love this combo of camera and film. And love that my $50 backdrop photographs so much better than it looks.
Thanks to my fine husband for being fill in model on short notice!

carly_webber Another double exposure. Kodak portra film and shot with the Mamiya C330. I love this camera's square format for these exposures. Makes uploading to IG easy as too Huge thanks to Sammy for her patience. She is a dream to photograph.
