caitlindarling151 One of three Giant Pandas from China at the Mexico City zoo. It's a huge zoo, over 2000 animals, including a whole bunch of highly endangered species. And the best part was that it was free! They had exhibits for raccoons, Canada geese, and the official animal of Radford, the skunk! Quite funny seeing the Mexicans freak out over these animals I see quite often back home. 3w

caitlindarling151 I know I've said this a million times, but today was the best day in Mexico. Visited a very small town an hour outside of San Cristóbal. Took a two hour boat ride through a massive Canyon. I saw many crocodiles and monkies and huge iguanas. It was such an expierence that was far off the typical traveler path. Sorry, this picture can't do this place the justice it deserves. 4w

caitlindarling151 San Cristóbal de Las Casas, you have officially stolen my heart. High up in the mountains with beautiful weather. This city is loaded with old cathedrals and plazas and has just as many mercados 😀 wish I had more than 2 nights here!! 4w

caitlindarling151 The 15 hour bus ride wasn't so torturous considering that I woke up at one point with a lovely views of the mountains and the fog creeping through them. 4w

caitlindarling151 This is my hostel. A beautiful place with lush vegetation and wildlife. You know how much I paid for my dorm? $10. My huge breakfast at a fancy place this morning cost me a little over 3 dollars. My 4-pack of Mexican beer (Modelos in big cans) was a $1.05.Yes that's correct. And while I'm here let me get up on my soapbox regarding my travels. It reallyyy bothers me and makes me veryyy uncomfortable when people say how jealous they are of my life. Don't be. I've been dealt a SHIT hand in life, one of the shittest someone could have. But I work my butt off to make my dreams happen. I don't tell people I'm jealous of them when they talk about their mom or dad or having a family in general. And I hold my jealously in when I see my friends that have a place to go to on Christmas day. Anybody can do this. I started with absolutely NOTHING and made the necessary sacrifices to do what I wanted; seeing what the whole world has to offer to me. My parents (that I don't even fucking have) & family don't give me a cent to help me with my life. Basically everyone who has said their jealous of me has at least that. I'm not singling out a single person or talking about a specific one of my sorority sisters. I guess my point is, you only live once, don't waste your time envying other people. And I'm done, bye 1mon
  •   caitlindarling151 And if any of yall actually want to do what I'm doing, I would LOVE to give advice and let you know my secrets. 1mon
  •   angieesayss I would love love love to hear your advice and know where you go! Your travels are absolutely incredible and now that I've seen all I want to see in america, I'm ready to branch out! Also America is too expensive to travel in, haha 1mon
  •   rafaelgsb That's so true. People love to complain about their lives but don't actually do anything to change it or live a better life with what they already have. 1mon

  •   caitlindarling151 @angieesayss I'd love to! America is soooo expensive but the Caribbean and central America is so cheap! My first solo trip was to old San Juan in Puerto Rico. And that is still one of my most favorite places. The island is tiny so you can see a lot. Plus its a good combo of being very foreign and very familiar at the same time. No passport needed, they use us dollars, and my phone work completely down there. Plus my round trip flight was under $300! i was there for a month and saw the whole island 1mon

caitlindarling151 Finally got the pictures from Los Dos Ojos cenotes (natural limestone sinkholes) in Tulum. Yea I snorkeled in that! Didn't go too far in through the maze of rivers and caverns though because that takes a little more expertise and bravery, but still. One of the most amazing and unforgettable parts of this trip (so far) 1mon

caitlindarling151 So today was basically the greatest, most exciting day of my life in terms of adventures. Escaped horrible, crowded Cancun, just for a night, and fled to Playa del Carmen to meet with some friends I made at the last hostel. Went to the Mayan ruins in Tulum, which are right on the Caribbean Sea and was blown away by the beauty (even though there were WAY too many tourists). Then we went to Dos Ojos, one of the most popular Cenotes in the area. Cenotes are underground caves with rivers and lakes. And of course we had to go snorkeling! The water was so insanely clear. It was terrifying swimming in caves but breathtaking at the same time. Those pictures are coming later since we used a go pro 😛 loving my life right now! Sorry not sorry for the novel! 1mon
