bwana3 rip Dale"Buffin"Griffin...you and your band were completely f'ng badass...kinda strange that I've been listening to almost nothing but Mott the last couple days...well besides Bowie, and that you would go almost exactly a week after him...the irony of it all...life that is 3w
  •   corinnecy Wuuuuuhhh?! Mercury retrograde is a crazy time 3w
  •   jesmcdowell What!? Yikes.
Behind these shades, the visions fade, as I learn a thing or two
Oh but if I had my time again you all know just what I'd do 3w

bwana3 One of the last photos of Bowie taken last week by his friend and longtime photographer Jimmy King for the release of 'Blackstar'...it makes me so much happier to see the joy in his face in the wake of the inevitable...He was evidently more than ready...peace and love to you forever 'Starman' 1mon
  •   bwana3 Longtime collaborator Brian Eno was in touch with Bowie just a week before his death. "David's death came as a complete surprise, as did nearly everything else about him. I feel a huge gap now," Eno said in a statement honoring his friend.
We knew each other for over 40 years ... Over the last few years – with him living in New York and me in London – our connection was by email. We signed off with invented names: some of his were mr showbiz, milton keynes, rhoda borrocks and the duke of ear," Eno continued. "I received an email from him seven days ago. It was as funny as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did," Eno added. "It ended with this sentence: 'Thank you for our good times, brian. they will never rot'. And it was signed 'Dawn'. I realize now he was saying goodbye." 1mon
  •   le_genou_de_claire Yes this is a great LAST pic! Oh David we are all going to miss u so much!... 1mon
  •   bonellicious I don't want to cry anymore, but it's so hard not to 1mon
  •   revofilm This photograph is so great. Captures him beautifully. And just one word comes to mind - Gentleman. David Bowie was most definitely that. A true Gentleman 1mon
  •   strangefigs Dammit @lindsey_dear I seem to have something in my eye 1mon

  •   bwana3 "Knowledge comes with death's release..." I'm closer to the Golden Dawn
    Immersed in Crowley's uniform
    Of imagery
I'm living in a silent film
    Portraying Himmler's sacred realm
    Of dream reality
I'm frightened by the total goal
    Drawing to the ragged hole
And I ain't got the power anymore
No, I ain't got the power anymore

I'm the twisted name on Garbo's eyes
Living proof of Churchill's lies, I'm destiny
I'm torn between the light and dark
Where others see their targets, divine symmetry
Should I kiss the viper's fang?
Or herald loud the death of Man
I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore

Don't believe in yourself , don't deceive with belief
    Knowledge comes with death's release
    Aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah

    I'm not a prophet or a stone-age man
Just a mortal with the potential of a superman
    I'm living on
I'm tethered to the logic of Homo Sapien
Can't take my eyes from the great salvation
    Of bullshit faith
If I don't explain what you ought to know
You can tell me all about it on the next Bardo
I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore

Don't believe in yourself , don't deceive with belief
    Knowledge comes with death's release
    Aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah

Don't believe in yourself , don't deceive with belief
    Knowledge comes with death's release
    Aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah, aah-aah 1mon

bwana3 Beautiful words from the great Tony Visconti..."He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life – a work of Art. He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be. I wasn't, however, prepared for it. He was an extraordinary man, full of love and life. He will always be with us. For now, it is appropriate to cry." 1mon

bwana3 just woke to this absolutely devastating news...strangest part of it all is I just played 'Heroes' and most of 'Hunky Dory' last nite for the gang at a dinner party...r.i.p. David...you were one of a kind man, you changed my life early on when I was still a kid and I'll miss you and your art more than you can imagine...
"The door to dreams was closed.
Your park was real dreamless
Perhaps you're smiling now,
smiling through this darkness
But all I had to give was the guilt for dreaming...We should be on by now"
1mon
