  •   bumbledee @dumplingshack not sure if I liked the use of ingredients... Tasted rather weird to me. For example the sirloin steak was topped with lovage liquor... That... Was... Super... Odd... I decided to scrape off sauce and eat the steak on its own. The texture of treacle tart was abit funny as well :/ the waiters didn't really do a good job at explaining the menu and the dishes either... Towards the end the waiter asked us to pick one out of two deserts on our 6 course set menu but turned out that we were getting both... (What was point of asking?!) Overall it was a pretty unusual experience for me. 2mon

  •   bumbledee @dumplingshack it was good, the thin layer outside was slightly crispy and the inside was very soft and moist. Its definitely one of the best medelines I've had. Too bad that I only managed to eat one as I was way too full to eat the rest. 3mon

I see what you mean though, I thought I would never buy sea urchins here, but I had got this sample last week and had it as staff meal. Was really good, and that also caused lots of talk. So I bought 1box today for nice customers. Lots of Uni on big bowl of Udon for this price, I think it's quite a treat. 4mon

  •   prowlergram @junyayamasaki I'm all for giving everyone the best available, i believe you would do that, my opinion is that as much as chefs try they only have suppliers to elevate your ideas, I've experienced weaker chefs with better produce and vice versa, London has a long way to go but I'm confident they will get there apart from the kaiseki/omakass, 4mon

  •   junyayamasaki @prowlergram I think our BackBench Kaiseki/Omakase, or whatever you want to call, isn't that bad compare to those many flashy ones in Japan. And these sea urchins are not bad at all. I had lots of worst ones even in Japan. Some of them were still moving when I got it in the morning! 4mon
