bretthoebel The scale may tell you what's happening on the outside, but not on the inside. And when your weight is "off", more times than not, something on the inside is too. Focus on your health, from the inside out...the rest will follow.

Down 47 lbs and too many inches to count...and STILL going! Rock on BARBARA!! Her transformation has been amazing, but most of all, it’s been from the inside out. I remember the first time I spoke to Barbara on our Skype call she won from one of my Challenges. She was a little nervous, a little shy and very appreciative for the time we shared. Since then, I’ve seen Barbara at different events face to face and have witnessed this woman’s complete inner and outer change. It’s been an honor to be a part of it, and to see the support she has given and received from her HIITsquad #fitfam.

I always talk about finding Strength from Within and in her own words, “Don't let age, life circumstance or people get in the way of where you see yourself. It's easy to get caught up in the numbers of fitness...
The pounds, the sizes, the calories, the inches.
But these are only numbers. They do not define your beauty, your fitness or your soul. These things come from within, they have a feeling and are defined by what you do.
Thoughts create actions, so if you keep believing that your fitness or beauty is defined by numbers, than your self-worth will always be dependent on something that can be unrealistic and unobtainable.
Just remember, fit doesn't have a size, a weight or a shape...it has a feeling.

bretthoebel Skillz & Drillz. Capoeira has many aspects to it; from martial arts and conditioning to music and dance. It's a commitment to develop each one, but it's all part of the journey.
These drills focus on the martial arts aspect. Getting the correct form, flow and power takes time and practice. I'm focusing on progress, not perfection.

bretthoebel Booty Bandit. This is one of my favorite booty building, hamstring and outer thigh toning exercises that I upgraded using a mini-band!

Booty Bandit Hamstring Curl:
try this first with 2 legs, then progress to 1 leg
use a ball you can sit on comfortably, not too big or small
place a mini-band around your legs, above your knees do 10-12 reps with 2 legs to start, then progress to 10-12 reps per leg alternating, then progress to 10-12 reps on each leg
️place your arms out to your side, palms up, like the letter “T” for balance - I have my elbows bent which is a more difficult option
️drag your heels into the ball as you bend your knees, and squeeze your booty to lift your hips - you will feel this in your calves, hamstrings, and booty
make sure you are pressing your knees out against the band - you will feel this in your outer hips
️at the top, press your heels into the ball to keep your hips as high as your knees and squeeze your booty - you will feel this in your low back and booty
️release slowly while keeping your hips above your knees on the way down, then allow your hips to touch the floor or keep them off the floor the entire time for a harder option
