bradwalsh Video: protesters below my window marching on 7th Avenue again tonight toward Times Square, chanting #JusticeNow. I'm going to join them there, come out if you can. #EricGarner 2w
  •   northernbirdcbh Police officers killing suspects armed and unarmed is a problem in Canada as well. In the cities of Toronto, Vancouver, Police Montreal and smaller towns, these killings are on the rise. Is it fear, lack of proper training, budget restrictions for qualified officers or all of the above that is the root cause. I don't understand it, we pay the police to protect us against harm, yet our children and citizens are being killed by them. We also recently had multiple RCMP killed in the line of duty while they were only doing their job. Killing is senseless for both sides. It's people that make the decision to kill whether premeditated or a rash act, killing people is a homicidal act that terrorizes both citizens and police officers. The people involved in the killing of police officer are swiftly brought to justice yet it nevers seems to happen when it's the police that do the killing. Let's make them accountable, the laws are there now we just need someone to enforce them. A body to police the police. This is my rant for the day, what's your opinion on this topic? 2w
  •   bradwalsh @northernbirdcbh My grandfather was a police officer and later police chief who was shot in the line of duty. And my aunt is a former police officer who was threatened at knife point in one of her later jobs. Police officers face all kinds of insane dangers every day, which is why so many people are reluctant to join these protests. But I'm not protesting police in general, I'm protesting the miscarriage of justice in this particular case. As well as what I perceive to be obvious authoritative racism in parts of America. 2w

bradwalsh Sorry for the long text. Unfollow me if you're not interested. // Last night I was watching the news and they were showing live footage of protesters congregating in Times Square to protest the non-indictment of the NYPD officer who was responsible for Eric Garner’s death. Times Square is about twelve blocks up 7th Avenue from my home, where I was sitting alone in my pajamas. I got dressed and walked there to join them because I felt it was the only thing I could do. I couldn’t just sit on the couch. (Continued below...) 2w

  •   lyonmeza What's the protest about? If I may ask... 2w
  •   audreyelysse @lyonmeza police brutality in the U.S. The protest is in response to recent cases where black men have been murdered without the policemen being indicted. 2w
  •   hodiaks @lyonmeza a black man was literally chocked to death by a cop, he said he couldn't breathe, 11 times and the he was murdered. No indictment. 2w
  •   themissbliss In love with the fact that you are out in the protests. US needs change immediately. 2w
