If you want to get a hyperextend b&a try doing over splits (if you can do over splits, if not and you have a split try over splitting on a text book and work your way up progressively) and pull your leg like you would behind you. Normal Do You Needle Stretching Tips?

Start in a back bend then drop your hips, keeping your arms locked you will start to feel it. Just stretch until you feel it and hold. This will help you gain the flexibility in your shoulders to grab your scorpion. Hope this helps!

bows_to_toes_stretching Scorpion/ Needle Back Stretch
First go into a regular back bend then walk in as much as you can. Now pick up your leg and try to walk in a bit more keep your chest facing forward not to the side. This can turn into a needle stretch if you straighten out your bottom leg. If you cannot balance, then ask someone to hold you or do it with your chest leaning on a wall. Hope this helps!

Go into a regular back bend then move your hands and feet as close together as possible. Now try to stay balanced (someone can help stable you, or you can do your back bend with your chest against the wall and just walk into the wall) now try to grab your ankles and lock out. If you are not advance, just try to walk in as close as you can get your feet and hands together. Hope this helps!

First go into a regular back bend, now like in the top picture you want to put your legs together and then push your shoulders out. If your in a really comfortable position, try bringing you legs a little closer. Then don't push through your shoulders, and push your chest without your shoulders. Hope this helps!

This is one of my favorite stretches for a needle and there are a couple things to keep in mind.
1. Make sure you hips are squared in your split and you are posteriors right in your split (check back to my last post)
2. When you lean back you shoulders should be parallel to the ceiling Do not turn and face the front
3. Try to keep your arms the same as far down as the other

Go by a wall or use a chair just something you can put behind you and put your foot on. Go into a lunge (make sure your knee is parallel to your ankle!) and pick your back leg up and lean it in the wall. Now push your hips down and hold. You should really feel it in your back leg hamstring and this is great for splits. Now you can lean back to stretch scorpion. Repeat on your other side!
