Street children begin steeling and robing in order to survive their daily lives. Most kids like this end up roaming the streets because of the lack of income at home, most of the time they are forced to drop out of school in order to bring home money for their family's. The unfortunate thing is that most of the time they end up in drugs or become targets for Rape, Molestation, and even child trafficking.
There is very little we can do for these circumstances, but I firmly believe that art is an incredibly wonderful therapy that helps heal as well as provides the opportunity to express ones own thoughts and feelings.
The truth isn't always bright but working together in order to brightens someone's life, is exactly what this world needs.

bornintothis_kids Creativity is an area in which younger people have a tremendous advantage, since they have an endearing habit of always questioning past wisdom and authority. 11mon

bornintothis_kids Children radiate most when they are able to express their inner light. They become a looking glass to the innocence that gets lost as we mature into adulthood, giving our kids the opportunity to show us this rare time should be counted as a blessing. I love nothing more than to see children smile in the accomplishment of sharing their creations. 11mon

bornintothis_kids How can we look at something like this and not become overwhelmed with the realization that our children not only acknowledge what is going in around them but translate it in such an honest and profound way. This is not what any child should remember, but unfortunately we have no control over many of these circumstances. What we do though is provide them with the opportunity to express these rooted emotions. It isn't about saving every child in the world but it's about becoming better human beings for our children, to be the example and to give the loving guidance they deserve. Because what this world becomes is written in the raising & Education of our youth. β€’From the children of Gaza comes this adorable animation depicting the story of 4 kids of the extended Samouni family in Gaza. By animated drawings they express what happened to them and their family during operation β€˜Cast Lead’. 1y

bornintothis_kids Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
-Thomas Merton

As individuals we have a tremendous capability in exercising compassion. What we find difficult at times is applying it to purposeful causes, we come under the wrong impression that we must do something larger than life in order to create an impact, but I have come to understand personally that the biggest impacts we can make are right under our noses, starting with Oneself and gradually sharing it with those around you.
Helping the world can start just as easily as sharing a smile. (But please don't stop there!) share your love and compassion!

bornintothis_kids Our hearts go out to all the families especially the young children who had very little prior to the typhoon. Please keep them in your prayers, there are many small ways we can do to help. #UNICEF always has outstanding programs that deal with providing help to Street children in the Philippines. Much much Love 2y

bornintothis_kids In general there are fewer girls than boys actually living on the streets (studies indicate between 3% and 30% depending on the country). This is for several reasons: In many cultures, there is much greater pressure for girls to stay at home than boys. Research shows that girls will put up with abuse at home for longer than boys but that once girls make the decision to leave home, the rupture is more permanent than for boys. Girls are also less visible on the streets as they are often forced or lured into brothels and prostitution. 2y

bornintothis_kids The hardships endured by children in poor communities are often concealed – and thus perpetuated – by the statistical averages on which decisions about resource allocation are based. Because averages lump every- one together, the poverty of some is obscured by the wealth of others. One consequence of this is that children already deprived remain excluded from essential services. -Unicef 2y

bornintothis_kids Born into brothels was my first introduction to the reality that young children face in areas where poverty is all they know. Prostitution, Drugs and violence is all they see, day in and day out. What I love about this movie is that although it seems bleak, you can see that the children benefited from the art of photography is a major way 2y

bornintothis_kids Children are a wonderful gift. They have an extraordinary capacity to see into the heart of things and to expose sham and humbug for what they are.

bornintothis_kids One of the many things street children are also vulnerable to is soldier recruitment (child soldiers) Children described as child soldiers engage in a range of tasks: laying mines and explosives; scouting, spying, acting as decoys; couriers or guards; training drills or other preparations; logistics and support functions, portering, cooking and domestic labor. Child soldiers may also be subjected to sexual slavery or other forms of sexual abuse. (Information source : Destiny's children) 2y

bornintothis_kids You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

bornintothis_kids There seems never to be a still second at Kolkata's Sealdah station, barely a moment of pause amid the constant noise and friction of people and cargo in motion. Every day more than 120 trains come and go from the 15 platforms here. It is among the busiest stations in Asia.
This hub is also a place of danger, not least for the hundreds of children who call the station their home. At any given time you will find countless children frantically trying get their hands on a few rupees by foul means or fair, and at any moment those children could fall victim to numerous dangers. There are drugs, sexual abuse, violence from their parents, from other adults or from children just like them. - ANDREW BUNCOMBE
