bkachinsky Exactly a year ago I posted this. I was excited, motivated, grateful but still a hint doubtful. What a difference a year makes. The hint of doubt was replaced by tons of meetings, great people, concrete and steel. Thanks again to EVERYONE involved in making this park a reality. 2w
  •   shug_e_duz_it why do skateboarders get the spotlight in the picture. Why the hell don't any people in parks departments understand bikes? Unless bikes are allowed in parks I am anti skatepark. Houston has gotten the shaft many times already by skateboarders.. 2w
  •   ghost1390 Would you do another bakery? 2w
  •   bkachinsky @ghost1390 yeah, if I found the right building to do it. 2w
  •   bkachinsky @shug_e_duz_it bikes allowed here at all times. It's just a matter of going to the meetings and working with the city, skaters, and everyone involved. This park allows anything with wheels (non-motorized). The Houston situation is tragic. 2w
  •   bkachinsky @zenen_saneshige what's up bud! Hit me up sometime and let's chat to see what's been done so far. 2w
  •   ghost1390 NYC needs a bakery. Just saying, but good luck with the park out there. 2w
  •   nikkithekidd YES! THANK YOU! 2w
  •   mattloughbmx good man! 2w

bkachinsky A glimpse inside one of Saddam's palaces in Baghdad. Stumbled upon this photo I took years ago on a @bikesoverbaghdad tour. Those chairs in the back are the ones Saddam and Dan Rather sat in during his interview with the former leader Iraq. We got to sit in the chairs and relax in between riding. We slept in the room next door where I accidentally left my iPhone plugged into the wall. Luckily I got the phone mailed back to me and this photo was recovered. Still in disbelief that I got to experience this. I also did a recent write up about the tours on the @shophex blog: Shophex.com/blog I could tell stories for days. Happy most of the people we met over there are now home safe. 2w
  •   artivism Sheesh. Crazy. 2w
  •   tuned8e Pff, Saddam didn't even have good style. Come on bro - do you even interior decorate? 2w
  •   broadwaybicycles520 Haha that's priceless. I remember in 07 I was at one of the spots at Thar Thar dam.. Not as nice after some patrols 2w

bkachinsky I love all hoodies but personally what separates the good ones from the great ones are the thumb holes. Two thumbs up for this one @vans @vansbmx66 @vansjerry 3w

bkachinsky While in LA a few weeks ago I sat down for a chat about BMX and life. Interview is now live on @thecomeupbmx (thecomeup.com) Thanks for having me on! This was fun. 3w
  •   fan_in_van Will watch this later 3w
  •   danielxpaul Just watched! Good stuff Brian. 3w

  •   steezysmartt Can't wait to watch! 3w
  •   patrickkelly_ That was awesome Brian! I remember starting undergrad in 2007 and around that time I think Vital did an interview with you where you talked (among other things) about being committed to school and trying to ride at a high level still. That interview back then, and now this interview, as I coincidentally start my master's degree, are really encouraging. BK, you kick ass! Thanks for being a role model! And #frontbrakebrethren !!! 3w
  •   shamilhzm Just watched your TCU interview, you really motivated me to finish up college on good terms, what did you major in? Also, do you see your self building (designing) parks outside of Chicago in the future? I feel like The Bakery set a great foundation for you to grow as far as park building goes; would be great to have someone in BMX that goes out and helps grow the sport like that. 2w
  •   bkachinsky @patrickkelly_ thanks for watching man! Best of luck in your Masters program. Keep up the good work and nosepicks! 2w
  •   bkachinsky @shamilhzm thanks man. This made my day to hear it was motivating. I majored in consumer science with a consumer affairs concentration (Mostly business courses). I definitely would love to play a part in more parks getting built for people to enjoy. One step (or pedal) at a time but hopefully many small efforts will end up with big results eventually. 2w

bkachinsky Some clips from 2000 courtesy of @bacodesigns @chrisrye. The opening clip was my first rail manny I'd ever done on street. It felt so rad and wanted to do bigger ones after that, so I did. Dozens of rails later...they still feel awesome. #fbf 3w

bkachinsky My friends at @shophex just posted a Ghost Writer piece I wrote for their blog during a @bikesoverbaghdad trip. Check it out at shophex.com/blog It's always fun to write about crazy experiences and I'm happy with this one. The main principle being: "Open a door for a stranger, help someone with their luggage, give someone a couple of your french fries at lunch, or just simply smile. If we all did, then the world would be a better and more peaceful place. These small things will add up to big changes." 3w
