beafunmum Found this cute set of 4 milk bottles in a caddy. The brand is @saltandpepperhome. They stay out on the bench for occasional after school drinks because they look adorable. #beafunmum 3h

@sal_nourishcoaching - my lovely friend Sal who works fierce and fast and yet takes the dedicated time to stop and spend time with her kids.

beafunmum I've got a totally professional set up peoples. Baha. #bafm_behindthescenes 3d
  •   katepickle That's actually a totally genius set up! 3d
  •   kirrad85 Love it! 3d
  •   rhubarbphotography Lol! That's a pretty good effort! Well done. If you turn it all around you will be able to take advantage of that lovely light coming in from the left of your image (behind your little studio) 3d
  •   beafunmum @rhubarbphotography I tried that but there was too much shadow on the back of the box from the subject. How could I minimise that? 3d
  •   rhubarbphotography You need something to bounce some light down from above, a simple piece of white card/paper might suffice. Alternatively, create a curved background for it, like a piece of white card laying flat on the ground with the far bed curved up behind your object, against the chair perhaps. Keeping your object as get from the back of the box will help too. Having said that, if you got the results you wanted then you need not bother changing what you have set up as it worked. I'm more than happy to draw you some diagrams to show you what I mean, you are welcome to email me and I'll happily to help @beafunmum 3d
  •   rhubarbphotography far *end* not bed!! 3d
  •   rhubarbphotography *happily to help* lol sounds like I've had a few!!! 3d
  •   beafunmum @rhubarbphotography haha. Thank you. 3d

beafunmum She asked me if she would be ready. Ready for what, I asked. Ready for 'the world'. You have everything you need: strength of character, self-discipline, integrity, discernment, faith, kindness, love. #portrait 4d

beafunmum There's a small story behind these raft boats. During the week, my husband researches things to do as a family on the weekend. He loves watching sailing and so come Saturday, we are going to go into Auckland to see the yachts coming in from the Volvo Ocean race. This race takes the boats around the world. It started in Spain, leg 1 Spain to South Africa, leg 2 South Africa to Abu Dhabi, leg 3 Abu Dhabi to China, leg 4 is China to Auckland. 5 legs to go after Auckland to finish. They have been sailing for 18 days so far.
I was thinking it would be fun for the kids to sail their own boats in the ocean too, and we made our own.
It's fun to couple interests, family experiences and play together.

beafunmum Wise words from the husband. #keepitreal 5d
  •   themummadiaries Not a half bad idea! 5d
  •   sharron_jane Ha! 5d
  •   williams.ashleigh A friend of mine told me a while ago that she hoped to emulate her own mothers parenting style with her four kids. She said growing up her mother used to send them outside, lock the back door and throw biscuits at the kids out the window ! If anyone needed to pee they were to use the bushes. She got an hour or so to spend child free! 5d
  •   beafunmum @williams.ashleigh 5d
  •   5_times_blessed Just did the same. Too much crazy indoors! They are playing while hubby works the BBQ.😀 5d

beafunmum Our move to NZ for a year, although not without its challenges, has proven to be just the sea change our family needed. The husband is home for dinner many nights now, and it's made such a big difference to family life. We have a garden. It's amazing. We live near the ocean. We explore most weekends. We have much much much less stuff and that makes us happy.
This evening, my husband got home - he loves the garden - and came in with armfuls of picked apples from the backyard tree...and the next thing I know he's following a @jamieoliver recipe for apple pie. These are very good things.

  •   emmanicolelean This makes me so happy 6d
  •   mscara77 Good to hear @beafunmum! We have gone the other way: no garden, exorbitant rental, husband averages 72hrs a week, seldom home for dinner, ward rounds EVERY Saturday, take home work (log book, presentations) AND we started our family here in Aus without grandparents or a friendship base to lean on. It's been very tough (I have loved reading your blog, especially the early posts about babies, thank YOU for blogging!) I do love it here (the beaches, the weather, being financially able to be a stay at home mum) and am proud of my resilience to date but I also recognise and now appreciate even more the 'assets' you mention here. Reading about your happiness and enjoyment makes many of us happy (and appreciative) too! 6d

  •   beafunmum @mscara77 I hear you!! We drs spouses have to stick together because so many don't (and can't) understand the pressures and constancy of it. 5d

beafunmum One of the things I love to do in a new place is walk around the housing streets in the city. It helps me get a feel for the city's personality. Look at this adorable red cottage! #auckland 6d
