  •   bananaowl Starting the day with a Sri Lankan breakfast of red rice flour string hoppers, spicy pol (coconut) sambol and dahl. A lot of effort and strength goes into making string hoppers (they're like little, thin nets of noodle that have to be squeezed through a mould), so a special thank you goes to Ravi at Pedlar62 and his mother, the cook, who made these for us. 3w

bananaowl Exploring the beautiful streets of Galle Fort, Sri Lanka and bursting with happiness. The Fort's walls are made of granite and coral and withstood the 2004 tsunami. There's so much beauty to take in. This area is a UNESCO World Heritage protected site - it has a very similar vibe to the equally gorgeous Luang Prabang in Laos. 3w
