baltimoresun Kitty Bohon is this week's winner in the #SunShots "Canine" category with her picture of Maya. Christopher T. Assaf, visuals content editor for Sunday, writes "This picture went straight for my heart, the way the eyes pierce the viewer, yet convey a small sense sadness that gets accentuated by the droopy mouth, gray fur and the floppy ear. The wood to the right creates a nice compositional balance, and opposes the softness of the dog and grass.. I particularly like animal portraits, and this one captures a lot of Maya's personality."
