baby_burrd But there was - it didn't rain 9h
  •   raeyamane Hahaha!! 8h
  •   minniemae Yeah! Who's to say what constitutes a miracle? 8h
  •   baby_burrd Didn't even carry an umbrella with me! @chickenwillow @raeyamane @minniemae 3h
  •   fin_dufi Ah...Nathan Coley. Saw a show of his at GMOMA a few months ago (pic in my photo stream somewhere!) 1h
  •   helengalliard I love that, I have the same photo somewhere :) 22min
  •   baby_burrd Never fails to put a smile on my face. Along with Martin Creed's 'EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT', which is a timely reminder for me at the moment. We had a look round the 25 years of contemporary art in Scotland exhibition and found a superb video installation. Can't recall who by, but worth a trip to see if you are in the vicinity @helengalliard @fin_dufi 16min

  •   lizschaap Charming! 8h
  •   zilbeth no kidding! fantastic for exploring, looks like. 7h
  •   jwhippy Beautiful 4h
  •   baby_burrd We walked all the way from Trinity in the north of Edinburgh along the Water of Leith, which cuts through the New Town, along to the Museum of Modern Art. It was a favourite walk to do when we lived in Edinburgh as you genuinely feel you've escaped the hustle and bustle here @sbeckey @minniemae @dumhart3 @raeyamane @lizschaap 3h
  •   baby_burrd Wouldn't swap this for the walks I get to do now though. Country girl at heart @zilbeth @jwhippy 3h

baby_burrd A good friend of mine named her firstborn daughter Heather. I think I can see why now - #elegant but #hardy 21h
  •   hlpass I'm a Heather, inspired by the Peak District on our doorstep :-) 19h
  •   baby_burrd And you are very elegant too @hlpass, and I'm guessing hardy if you grew up roaming the Peak District :) 19h
  •   hlpass Yes, more of the latter - faking the former! Lovely picture @baby_burrd 18h
  •   mcadak My best friend (deceased) wasn't named Heather from birth, but chose the name for herself as an adult. 17h
  •   hbrugman No wonder I love these flowers. Ahhh, Heather. 8h
  •   hbrugman I would totally frame this if I had this print, btw.... 7h

baby_burrd Waves of emotion/feathers of flora 2d
  •   jwhippy Love the colors, the everything!!! 2d
  •   evakat21 Love this colour, it makes me sad but in a good way 2d
  •   baby_burrd Thank you @kristenturick - a great compliment from you 1d
  •   baby_burrd Seems like melancholy makes me look for beauty @greyers1 1d
  •   baby_burrd I know, it gave me much #solace @jwhippy 1d
  •   baby_burrd I was walking along feeling so sad, and then I noticed this and it just fitted my mood and lifted me @evakat21 1d
  •   fin_dufi Lovely work... 1d
  •   baby_burrd Thank you @fin_dufi - been wallowing in melancholia of late. It does seem to accentuate my response to beautiful things though. So there is that. 22h

baby_burrd Sometimes the weather matches my mood perfectly. Pretty bleak. 2d
  •   baby_burrd I'm not used to such a binary question. Brings out the absolute worst in people all round @frankieandray! xx 2d
  •   baby_burrd It is giving me insight into how it must feel in the run up to a US election @kristenturick - I just hope that once the decision is made everyone can get along together. I don't think FB is helpful in this respect. I'm seeing far too much of what my friends think, and some of it ain't pretty! 2d
  •   gman92069 I've almost stopped going onto FB for this very reason. It's crazy how angry, and venomous normally very kind and rational people can get over issues that most know nothing about! Even our news media feeds into this division. Very sad and frustrating. :( Nature gives us perspective and is a good healer. 2d
  •   minniemae Chin up girl! This will pass. Social media shines a light (not a good one) revealing how much we need to grow towards civility and respect. How to be involved in the process and keep peace in our lives, not easy. But don't bite yourself!! :) @baby_burrd 2d
  •   baby_burrd In fairness, my friends have mostly managed to maintain a veneer of civility. It is just those who practice the mindless sharing of propaganda that are wearing me down. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that they have opinions that I don't agree with, I do mind that they seem to promote memes and sources of information without apparently checking out where they come from. There is one blog that several of my friends have shared links to that I have been quite horrified by. We are at our most vulnerable when we participate in crowd thinking. My Dad taught me from very young to always question why someone is telling me something. What might motivate them? People say that they don't understand what happened in Germany in the 1930s, well I think it is plain to see it in action in this one individual's blog, which has nearly 2 million followers. He doesn't even live in Scotland! Thanks for the kindness, just needed to vent a little bit. And switch off FB @gman92069 @minniemae 22h
  •   minniemae Your Dad, very wise. @baby_burrd 21h
  •   baby_burrd I don't always agree with my Dad either @minniemae, but I have learned so much from him. He's played a very good Devil's advocate for me over the years, and I think it has helped me to try to be a rational thinker. Certainly an independent one. You can't ask more than that from a parent.  18h

  •   unacorn_the_unicorn Are you back?? 6d
  •   minniemae What fun! 5d
  •   curiousershop So jealous. I've read a few of his books, especially love "Wind Up Bird Chronicles" 5d
  •   baby_burrd We are now @unacorn_the_unicorn 5d
  •   baby_burrd He really was @minniemae 5d
  •   baby_burrd We were very greedy and saw him yesterday talking about Wind-Up Bird (one of my fave books ever), and then today he was talking about his new book. Such a modest and totally charming man in person. 5d
  •   mmraymond Ahhh! How lucky you are! I've read all his books. I loved Wind-Up Bird. Might have to read it again, now that I think of it. I went through a number of years certain that I would end up sitting next to him on a plane one day... hasn't happened yet! 5d

baby_burrd Feels like summer has left us already... 1w
  •   vicki_is_tricki @frankieandray London does tend to be warmer. I take it you will be spending hours and hours and hours in Liberty drooling over fabric? 1w
  •   frankieandray Packing tissues for that very purpose @vicki_is_tricki ! #swooningalready 1w
  •   greyers1 @frankieandray so happy you guys are getting away again this year! Was just wondering that yesterday because a coworker went to Carmel but didn't go to Doris Days place. ;) 1w
  •   apple_6819 I have been at my mum and dads for past 3 weeks and have had my scarf on way too many times. Also got totally soaked at the Cortachy games at weekend 1w
  •   baby_burrd Ah, so it's your fault for taking your holidays just now @apple_6819! We totally forgot all about the games this weekend. But then saw in the paper that it had been a bit rainy. Did you make it up to the Airlie Tower in the end? 1w
  •   frankieandray Oh, thank you Shelly! Yes, if we don't go away I just end up working right through! I'm not very good at that holiday at home thing ;) I have such beautiful memories of Carmel, and I'm still mad at myself for not making it down to San Diego to see you. We always talk about that 'other' trip to the States we need to do :) xx @greyers1 1w
  •   apple_6819 No. I saw it, but when I mentioned going up to have a look my parents both groaned very loudly. Have had a really good time tho despite it being nippy. Had a lovely couple of days at New Lanark Mill 1w

  •   vicki_is_tricki She looks very dinky in this shot. 1w
  •   baby_burrd She's trimmed down a bit @vicki_is_tricki, and she's come right out of her Walter depression now. Nice to see her running again but I'm awful scared of her injuring herself again. 1w

  •   baby_burrd They all are in their special ways @ambysawesomeamerica 3w
  •   baby_burrd You should have seen his reaction when we went to get him from my folks! Baying like a bloodhound, didn't know what to do with himself, then the earnest and reproachful look he gave the Captain. Wee soul! @electricallie 3w
  •   electricallie They're so sensitive it breaks my heart and makes it beat faster at the same time. So gentile and loving. Wish I could bring Ellie everywhere with me haha :) 3w
  •   baby_burrd I know @electricallie 3w

  •   wrongasaurus Your pix of Bella have been totally magical this year @baby_burrd - nice captures every one! 3w
  •   baby_burrd Oh thanks so much @wrongasaurus - have left plenty on the cutting room floor! Was lucky my phone was even working after using it in the rain then putting it back into the ziplock bag the Captain gave to me to keep it safe and zipping it up with lots of rain tightly sealed in on the inside overnight. Sheesh, you'd think I'd have learned my lesson after flinging it in a river a couple years back! 3w
