ashleysirmans My absolute fave go-to for a "cleanse." Pure cranberry juice (not blended with other fruit juice, the organic pressed juice only) has optimal health benefits, mainly supporting the bladder, urinary track, digestive system, and restoring electrolyte levels, hints to why it's my choice of a "cleanse drink." Tastes like biting into a bitter lemon lol. Very tart, very potent. You can dilute it down with water if you like. I also want to add I don't drink it to start off no crazy diet, use it as a meal replacement, it doesn't aid weight loss or any other kind of gimmicks you hear with herbal blended, vitamin infused, metabolism boosting 50 dollars drink system. It's just cranberry juice. It's just provides a dose of potassium, helps iron absorption, maintains glucose levels, keeps the kidneys and bladder healthy, helps maintain normal cholesterol levels. And it's on 6.99. #juice #cleanse #cranberry #health #fitness #drinks 1w

ashleysirmans If you don't have a notebook, a calorie tracking app, or somewhere you can note what you are actually eating everyday. How do you know that you're getting the right amount of calories, carbs, protein, fats and fiber? Do you know how much sugar, sodium, and bad fats you consume on a day to day basis? But you claim that you are eating "healthy" and are "cutting back." Do you know how much protein and calories are in a chicken breast? The basic thing every person has to do in order to be successful long term is to at least know what they are consuming. Research. Put effort into learning the foods that you are eating. Don't assume since you skipped out on the soda, opted in for a salad, then overate on pasta before bed that you did good that day. It's about consistency. Hitting the same target every single day. Your body doesn't lie, if it's getting what it needs, it will give you the results that you want. #diet #nutrition #results #progress #beforeandafter #fitness 2w
  •   anwarw_357 Couldn't agree more. 2w
  •   raquelreign It's really hard. I think that's my problem my 6 month before and after I don't see much of a difference. I workout 5/6 days a week . My problem is how do you eat properly on the go at hotels where there's no fridge or microwave ? 2w
  •   ashleysirmans @raquelreign I would for one invest in a 6 pack fitness meal tote. It's awesome for traveling. Also if you're eating out most restaurants provide lighter menus or the nutrition facts if you ask. I would cut alcohol out the diet completely if you're on the road. If you don't have an opportunity to prep a few meals, you have to buy fresh and eat as you go. Instead of the drive thru, go to a whole foods or organic markets. Most of their deli foods are prepared fresh using healthy ingredients. Unfortunately a lot of your foods will be packaged but the bright side of that is it always includes the nutrition info. Road life I would be focusing on hitting numbers than necessarily the source of the food. (Not saying eating whatever just close to healthy as possible) 2w
  •   emmamunholland @ashleysirmans @raquelreign sorry to chime in here but I second getting a 6 pack meal bag. such a life changer! :) 2w
  •   raquelreign @emmamunholland and @ashleysirmans but how does that work when I'm on the go for so long. For example. I left home for travel on the 7th and will not be back home near a kitchen until oct the 8th (1 month of no kitchen) so how does the 6pack help me 2w
  •   ashleysirmans @raquelreign like I said if you main food source is via restaurants always ask to see a lighter menu, nutrition facts or have your food special made: no butter or salts added. Always at least track your calorie intake. If I didn't prep my foods my usual go-to for the day would be: light packages tuna, cashews, Greek yogurt, raw veggies with basalmic vinegar, banana, hard boiled eggs (usually have them at a deli), hummus, and a protein bar. 2w
  •   ashleysirmans @raquelreign that roughly puts me between 1355-1600. Depending on how many packs of tuna I consume. 2w
  •   kdee_c Lol ain't it @christinam_ @xorayssa 2w

ashleysirmans 6 things about me outside of fitness:
1. I have a thick country girl accent. If I had a dollar for every time someone assumed I spoke Spanish because of how I looked.
2. I'm a compete loner. I don't have a clique of girlfriends I could call and hang out with on the weekends. Don't even have one. I dread superficial relationships and cannot maintain friendships that lack substance. I want a soul bestie. Not a group of people I feel alone with.
3. I am a writer. I have pages upon pages of poetry and motivational self help essays that I am working on to get published.
4. I love communication via email. There's nothing like getting a good, long email read.
5. I never paint my fingernails.
6. I am Agnostic. I love God. I believe in a higher power. I love religion, it's a beautiful thing, whatever gives someone hope, love, a moral compass, and a passion for living. But for me the spiritual world, the beginning and the end is too complex and beyond human knowledge to define in the pages of a book written by man.
7. I hate trendy brands. Seriously, no shits given about a Michael Kors bag, Ray Ban sunglasses, Jordan's, or True Religion jeans.

ashleysirmans Switched to plant based protein about 3 months ago and it makes a load of difference. Just from my experience with it, I'm seeing more gains, my recovery is faster, energy levels are great, agility performance has improved. Not saying that whey protein can't give you that. But cutting dairy (including whey) out of my diet I have seen more of an improvement in my overall muscle definition and digestion. There are plenty of studies out there that weigh the pros and cons of whey protein. For me having more of a plant based diet and cutting dairy out already, the whey protein had to go. Either way, the best source of protein would be through whole foods regardless. And to be honest most people don't know the difference between whey, soy, plant, hemp, rice or egg protein. They generally go off of whatever syntha 6, GNC brand, muscle milk, mysofusion flavored crap the gym rats are drinking. Do your own research and go off what you want for yourself. #wheyprotein #plantbasedprotein #fuel #protein #health #diet #nutrition #muscles #fitness 3w
  •   ashleysirmans @raquelreign this one really has just a flat flavor. It doesn't have that dirty/gritty/dirt after taste going on. But almost like a water down chocolate taste. 3w
  •   ashleysirmans @raquelreign they do sell sample packs of this brand depending on the store you go to. It's more pricey than whey so at least you can try it out before making the commitment lol. 3w
  •   kaleaan080 Where do you get it?? @ashleysirmans 3w
  •   ashleysirmans @kaleaan080 earth fare lady 3w
  •   kaleaan080 @ashleysirmans thank you :) 3w
  •   bonitabrooklynbomb I have literally 4 different kinds of protein in my kitchen right now. They're all open and I love NONE of them! Lolllll Maybe I'll try this one. 2w
  •   ashleysirmans @bonitabrooklynbomb this one is really flat tasting. Just an FYI. It's not bad but has a plain flavor to it. 2w
  •   bonitabrooklynbomb Right now I'm using @unjury. There's an unflavored version that you can put in hot oatmeal or coffee or mix with Crystal Light. I don't mind the taste. But there is definitely a smell that's a little ripe. 😕 2w

ashleysirmans 1. "I don't know how you find the time to workout. I'm always so busy." -Wow, talking about condescending. Like every other human, people who are into fitness have 24 hours a day which consists of multiple commitments, responsibilities and chores. It's about making the time.
2. "You look great but the muscular look is just not for me." -This one is usually directed at girls and all I have to say is, I'll design my body according to my wishes.
3. "You look healthy now, but don't get any skinner." -What is the purpose of this statement? Who died and made you the healthy police? What makes you think you can dictate what looks healthy, skinny, fit, and fat for other people? You better have the ultimate designer body if you are coming at me with those kind of statements.
4. "Don't understand why you're so into this, you don't need to lose weight." Have you ever considered that skinny isn't the goal? How about fit, how about healthy, how about self-confidence? Mind your business.
5. "If you keep losing weight you won't have any booty left." Look not everyone wants a Kim K or Niki Minaj ass *gasp* Its about an end result, there is no such thing as spot treatment. If I have to sacrifice a little junk in the trunk and less cleavage to get the body I FUCKING WANT, once again, mind your business. #fitness #fakecompliments #stupidstatements #myb #fitnessproblems #gymrat #gymproblems #fitgirls #girlsthatlift

ashleysirmans I cook my meals in the morning after I do my cardio and before I go into work. It's easier for me because after I get off and workout in the evenings, I don't want to do nothing but get in the bed. Baked chicken (30 min, at 350 degrees) with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, kalamata olives, tomato slices, basil and parsley, lemon juice, salt and pepper. #chicken #olives #tomato #fitmeals #healthymeals #fitness #fitlife #mealideas 1mon

ashleysirmans The worse thing to do when it comes to weight loss and fitness in general is to follow a plan that cannot be sustained long term. Sure eating 800 calories a day, zero carbs, no fats, and eating lettuce will get you results, but how long can you last on a starvation diet. Chances are it's setting you up for a binge eating session and the yo-yo effect. #goals #lifetime #fitforlife #fitness #workout #dieting #results 1mon

ashleysirmans If you're skipping breakfast, you're missing a prime opportunity to give your body the boost it needs. Your body just went without any nutrition for 6-9 hours, and while you were sleeping, it was working in overdrive repairing, replacing, and rebuilding cells, tissues, and systems. Fuel up this morning and it will prevent you from over eating in calories later in the day. #breakfast #eatbreakfast #fuelup #cleaneating #health #fitness 1mon
