Sometimes we do not realize how much progress we've made because we focus one only one aspect of the journey.
I've spent so much time focusing on the number on the scale that I didn't notice how I've changed in other ways. The photo on the left was taken about a year ago, on the right... Today. There isn't a huge difference but I can see that I'm headed down the right track. DMV photos are never flattering and I actually like the one from today

My efforts are not in vain. Not only am I losing weight and getting healthy... I am in a completely different mental state. A year ago I was filled with anxiety about driving and tons of other things. I chose to get my Learners Permit instead of doing my best and getting the drivers license then and there. Every time I got behind the wheel, I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. Because of it, I couldn't go anywhere or hang out with friends. I was embarrassed and depressed. It was like I was a prisoner in my own anxiety.
Now, I'm driving all over for work, on my own... I feel happier. I have more freedom. My marriage is benefiting from it. I'm not criticizing myself or my body as much. So many things have changed 100% from last year.
Yeah, I still have the occasional anxiety attack but I'm learning ways to overcome them. I am figuring out who I am again and not letting my depression or anxiety be what defines me.
So, here's to progress. No matter what form it may come in. Recognize your greatness and appreciate all the little steps you are taking to get you to where you want to be. It's a journey not a race.

ashleynicole1310 It's not always easy to get back on track... especially after eating corndogs, chips, soda, ice cream, and a bunch of other things that I knew were terrible for me, but I still ate anyway.

BUT... it's not impossible. Fortunately, I have 3 day solution (just delivered today... see my last post haha) that'll help me get headed in the right direction and pump me up for my "MIX-IT-UP May" workout schedule. 🏻 I did it a couple months ago and need the boost again. I am motivated to stick with it a little better this time because I saw my friend's results. She went from 129lbs to 121lbs IN 3 DAYS.

So... Heck yes, I'm sticking with this lol. It's only 3 DAYS! And it's not one of those starvation cleanses. Thank God. 🏻 Who wants to do it with me? Comment "I'm in!" if you want some info! <3

ashleynicole1310 Done, done, and done. 🏻 Tonight, I got down with my bendy self and do some Pilates. Since I'm short, I've always loved using Pilates to give the illusion of long lean limbs.
It's not an easy routine. You definitely feel all the little muscles, that you never knew you had, in your hips and abs. But it's great to incorporate into your week as an "active rest day." It helps you heal after all the jumping around and weight lifting... While still burning calories and sculpting your body.

ashleynicole1310 First I was like "maybe I won't work out. I'm tired. I have to get up early. AND I have a headache." Then, I got a little kick in the butt from my soul sister @sarahgrundyfitness and just did the damn thing. I'm glad I did. It was a killer leg workout but I blasted my jams and got through it.
Instead of focusing on your excuses why you can't do something... Focus on the reasons why you should!

ashleynicole1310 Today was Upper Body! Lifting a lot of weights so it was more controlled than cardio and my heart rate doesn't climb as high. But based on my heart rate strap, I got a good sweat going on lol

This is where I go to destress, to get out any frustration, and to take care of my body. So glad I have a space to call my own.
I don't have to drive 10-20 minutes each way to the gym or pay every month just to workout a few times a week. I don't have to fight over the equipment or wait for the class I want to be available. I have everything I need right here. Now I have no excuse to "skip the gym" because I'm too tired or it's too far.
