  •   aquilterstable I had such a clean house when I was following flylady! 2d
  •   joannajohnson I've gotta get back on the Flylady plan it really works! 2d
  •   muyfifi Lovely! 2d
  •   lexilooo I've never heard of flylady until now, but am now following! this could be so good for me! 1d
  •   rchrispy @flylady_111 helped me in ways I didn't expect. Now I can't leave my bedroom unless I'm dressed so I'm prepared for anything. Like my dog running away or forgetting about a Dr appt til its time to leave. 1d
  •   aprairiesunrise @lexilooo I didn't get very far on the baby steps last time, but we were just in a gross ranch house. Now that we have our own place I need some sort of cleaning/declutter routine and I like that flylady is in short spurts throughout the day. My priority number 1 is keeping my wild toddler happy, but I'm tired of living like a hurricane just came through my house. It's too embarrassing to have people over!! :P 1d
  •   oocha Best feeling!!! 1d
  •   szyhomemaker Checking this out...I need a routine now that I don't have cleaning help (or an excuse). 1d

aprairiesunrise It was snowing 2 weeks ago, now it's hotter than it was for most of the summer! Thank goodness it will be in the 60s next week! #ficklefall #Wyomingautumn 4d
  •   twolittlebirdsknits I heard your neck of Wyoming was going to see 90's and I cringed. I'm ready for consistent 65 degree days. 4d
  •   aprairiesunrise @twolittlebirdsknits I am so ready for 50s & 60s!! What's it like down there today? We're shopping in Casper today and it's even hotter here than at home by Douglas! Yuck!! 4d
  •   xjoseyx Cheyenne is hot today!!! 4d
  •   twolittlebirdsknits Mid 70's, but the sun is fierce! I've been shade hopping at the park. 4d
  •   englertmichael Its colder in long beach but not by much 4d
  •   sameliasmum Eeeeeek! That's a bit warm. We're heading into summer in my part of the world... already. I much prefer the cooler months. 4d
  •   pezgurl84x Wow! Talk about temperature change! 4d

aprairiesunrise In need of blender buying assistance! What's the advantage of the expensive Vitamix/Ninja types versus a regular old blender? I already have a food processor and mixer so those features don't really excite me. I mostly just need a new one for decent smoothies/juice. My blender that just died (a super cheapie) left a lot of foam on top of my smoothies. Thanks!! 4d
  •   sarcasticquilter I have the vitamix & love b/c I can do all the food processing stuff I want for cold or hot. I can make my own single serve ice cream or frozen yogurt in a pinch. I can make soups that are super creamy. Grind flax seeds, don't get chunky fruit smoothies, make fresh juice, like apple, with blender & cheese cloth to strain. I haven't found what I can't do yet but I can say I didn't use a food processor before the vitamix either. Just a pain to get out & put away. When I had a regular blender, I had a Hamilton beach 8 cup glass one & it worked very well for fruit smoothies. It was harder to add greens like spinach thought. They didn't get chopped fine enough (this is the clear advantage of vitamix or ninja to me) 4d
  •   debsea i just got a nutribullet for smoothies between my juicing fasts. it does exactly what i needed - super smooth (no chunks) super fast (seconds!) super easy to clean. mine came with 3 different sizes of cups and several different lids (sippy cup!) powers through kale, celery, apples, etc. takes up 5 sq inches of counter. 4d
  •   lovestocount Aunt Vicki says a Kitchen Aid is great @aprairiesunrise 4d
  •   lisaclarknoe Love the kitchen aid. 4d
  •   difeather I use a nutri bullet. It blends really smooth! 4d
  •   pezgurl84x I have a blender that sits in a cupboard while my ninja is out for smoothie making. Whats cool is I have the ninja with a large blending top but also some individual serving tops... which is perfect for making one smoothie. My ninja also has a part for dough making (which ill never use) 4d
  •   aprairiesunrise Thanks for all the advice everyone! I went with the Ninja (blender and individual cups, but no food processor). @marciwarrenelmer @sarcasticquilter @debsea @lisaclarknoe @difeather :) 3d

aprairiesunrise Reading at our new table/bench. The table part swivels down to become a bench! Picked up this and its twin (which is under a tree in the backyard) at a yard sale a couple weeks ago. Primered and painted last week & brought it in today. It fits perfectly in our tiny dining area! I will be making a cushion and table cloth for it as well. Trying to decide if I should make 1, 2, or 3 cushions for the 6' seat... #diyhome #tuckeysbuyahome #rubyverna 2w

aprairiesunrise Thanks @sugar_stitches for "forcing" me to watch Outlander yesterday, now I have a new book to read! So excited to start! And, yes, I did actually finish Anna and the French Kiss first. ;) 2w
  •   oocha It's a great book!! The series is really well done too!! 2w
  •   fourchicksfarm Eeeeek!!!! Gorgeous! Also, best book ever! 2w
  •   rubydeee I just bought an iTunes card for the same series. I LOVE the show 2w
  •   sugar_stitches That's what friends are for! Finishing up my book now (in between loads of laundry) and hoping to start Outlander tonight. Then you'll have to come back and we'll binge-watch the series. There's only 8 episodes in all. I'll make pavlova again. 2w

aprairiesunrise I bought this wooden planter to grow herbs in my kitchen window, but know pretty much zip about gardening. Do I need to waterproof the planter? And if yes, how? Thanks! #ediblegarden #growyourfood 3w
  •   possumbambi You can't put soil directly into the wood, it will rot. You'll need some kind of tray/liner for the bottom and a pot or pots with drainage holes fir the plants. The 4" plastic ones would work fine. The wooden box is really just decorative. Very pretty! 3w
  •   yarnpirate Plastic liner will work. I use chicken feed bags that I cut to fit 3w
  •   mitenae You'd need to waterproof it. Try using bondcrete. Otherwise as others have suggested, individual pots or an insert. 3w
  •   emfndn Rotten wood & rotten window sill maybe line with plastic (just to be safe) and find an insert like the other ladies have said. Nice thing is, stuff is going on sale! Woot woot! 3w
  •   aprairiesunrise @emfndn Yeah! A rotten window sill would suck! Especially since the previous owner put in new windows right before she sold to us. I got this on sale at Menard's a few weeks ago. I love that store!! 3w
  •   aprairiesunrise Thanks @mycraftycrap @possumbambi @yarnpirate @mitenae! I've toyed with most of those ideas so at least I know I'm on the right track! ;) 3w
  •   aprairiesunrise @oocha I think it's just pine, but I'm not sure! I got it Menard's do you have one up there? Thanks for your help! 3w
  •   oocha No we don't have a menards. Can't wait to see what you grow!! I really want a herb box too 3w
