aparalleloflatitude 2 weeks into this losing weight mission. I've been taking longer and longer morning walks a few times a week, both so I can ease into it and so Juju can get used to sitting in the stroller that long. (Baz just falls asleep) We are up to an hour now and I just hope the summer heat doesn't stop us from keeping it up.

  •   raelipkin You go girl! A big thing for me is to think about it as a way of changing your life instead of just loosing weight. It's way more sustainable! Do you have a pedometer with a heart rate monitor? Keeping your heart at a fat burning stage for a good while is really important if you're walking you'll see more results than keeping a resting heart rate ! :D 19h
  •   aparalleloflatitude @raelipkin Definitely agree with you on the life change mentality. Thanks for the tips! 14h
  •   raelipkin Anytime @aparalleloflatitude !! If you ever want a buddy to talk about this stuff with I'm with you! I know personally that when I focused too much on the number that appeared on the scale I felt it controlling me , making me want to just be thin and that's not healthy in the least bit. More about how you feel and less about the number! 14h

aparalleloflatitude Because I know we won't get to the backsplash for months due to William's crazy summer schedule and all the projects we need to do prior, I decided to go a little crazy with some marble-looking contact paper 1d
  •   thieveshours I need a new sink. 1d
  •   raelipkin Man I wish you were here to help me decorate my new apartment! 1d

aparalleloflatitude Feeding one baby, bathing another. I've got great multitasking abilities due to playing so many hours of video games. So thanks Call of Duty for the mothering skills! (Or something.) 6d

aparalleloflatitude One week down and I'm doing great! Today's lunch is a whole wheat wrap with roast chicken, arugula, and a bit of pasta salad. 350 calories! Calorie counting is annoying but you get used to it and it really keeps me on track.

aparalleloflatitude Walked around the beautiful, well manicured grounds of Rutgers Gardens with my family and I only complained, like, one time. (It was hot.) 1w

aparalleloflatitude Happy Father's Day to my husband. I'm lucky to have you as my partner in this crazy world of parenting and our kids are lucky to have you as their father. @gigante000 1w

aparalleloflatitude Little smiles are starting to make an appearance. And as I pack up his newborn clothes that he no longer fits into, I hope to hang on to the memories of how beautiful but challenging this time can be so I can support my friends and family when they go through this. I will make an effort to be the "village" that women raising babies so desperately need. 2w
  •   hollyruppel I've randomly encountered this conversation (about being a resource - and the lack of resources - for other mothers) so many times lately, with both friends and acquaintances. 2w
  •   southjerseyadventurer That face! I'm getting so impatient. 2w
  •   aparalleloflatitude @hollyruppel It's definitely something that's lacking lately and I think it's largely an American issue! 2w
  •   aparalleloflatitude @southjerseyadventurer How much longer do you have?? 2w
  •   southjerseyadventurer Three weeks. Hopefully she comes this week. I have a wedding to attend on the 27th that I'd rather not attend. Bed seems far better of a venue. 2w

aparalleloflatitude It's Day 1 of my latest major attempt to get healthy. I'm almost 6 weeks postpartum and ready to jump in again. My main goals are to eat mostly unprocessed foods, less sugar, eat a calorie deficit to lose weight, and be more physically active. I have a lot of bad habits to break but I know I can do it. I will be posting about my journey so if you aren't into food pictures or weight loss, I promise I won't take if personally if you unfollow me. Those that are into it, any recommendations for health focused Instagram accounts you like?? 2w

aparalleloflatitude I just took an insanely long shower in a fancy bathroom and my plans for the evening include blow drying my hair for the first time in months and watching copious amounts of HGTV. All thanks to my husband, who surprised me with my own hotel room for the evening so I can get my first full night of sleep in a month. #acrazysaturdaynight #goodluckwiththebabies 3w

aparalleloflatitude I jumped on the Birks (fake from Target) bandwagon because of my swollen feet while pregnant. Now that my feet are back to normal, I'm not regretting it. These things are comfortable! 3w
  •   alliecoco The fakes at Target are pretty legit! I almost bought them myself. Regretting not! 3w

aparalleloflatitude Completely unrelated caption: Figured out why I've been feeling awful. Apparently my body decided to hate milk after having my baby because that makes complete sense… "If I was allergic to dairy, I think I'd kill myself." 4w
  •   xlisa.greenex Oh no!!! This happened to justin after taking too many antibiotics for a cold. 4w
  •   aparalleloflatitude @xlisa.greenex I had antibiotics for my surgery! Was is temporary for him?? 4w
  •   xlisa.greenex It wasn't. We thought it would be and the Dr. though so too and said to try probiotics, but it didn't work. He got tested for lactose intolerance, and was fine, but nothing helps. 4w
  •   xlisa.greenex Although he finds he can eat dairy as long as he doesn't move afterwards, so sometimes we get a pizza and sit on the couch and watch movies. 4w
  •   aparalleloflatitude @xlisa.greenex Noooo! That's such a bummer! 4w
  •   xlisa.greenex But he was on antibiotics for like a whole month. So try probiotics! It might work!! 4w
  •   master_gilligan Just substitute real milk with almond milk! Unless you're also allergic to almonds. Haha. 4w
  •   sonomacottage I just want to say your caption is the best ever... "I'm not even cool on the Internet". Hahaha!!! 4w
