anthroprobably The good news is I found the north border of the cellar, the bad news is now I get to draw this monster profile wall, haha. Five layers, multiple lenses, tons of artifacts still in the wall; fun stuff!! #Archaeology #profilewall #artifacts #colonial #Virginia #historic #instafun #dirt #potd #instaview #instagood 21h

anthroprobably About 6 years ago after grad school, and before I got back on my feet, I lived in this <200 sq/ft mostly-glass shack on my family's property for over a year. The structure now houses lawn mowers, bikes, and garage overflow. Every time I visit and see it I remember and appreciate the struggle of being a recent anthro M.A. grad during a recession when NO jobs were being created in the field. Glad to be on the other side looking back.

anthroprobably Really nice piece of delftware from our cellar. This type of earthenware utilizes tin-glazing and originated in the Netherlands in the 16th Century.

anthroprobably Was today a good dig day? I'd say so: Two Virginia Colony halfpennies (both struck 1773, on the left) which feature George III; and the one on the right is a British halfpenny featuring George II dating to 1730(!). #Archaeology #colonial #Virginia #artifacts #coins #instacool #potd #trowel #findoftheday #historic #instagood 1mon

anthroprobably Earth Day project: 18 foot walkway in the backyard. What I normally do, work with earth, but in a different capacity.

anthroprobably The backside of the 1773 Virginia colony halfpenny. Features the colony seal (can barely see the harp in the lower left corner), and reads left-to-right: NIA • 17 • 73 • VIRGI. Unearthed in Isle of Wight county, Virginia.
