anniebjones05 Okay, Mama friends, these are my favorite children's books in the shop right now. Fun for you and your little one! (Like what you see? We've got a pretty fun book-a-month club subscription available on our shop website!) 4d

anniebjones05 You know what's nice? Befriending other small business owners who are trying to make it, too. I think we forget how important support systems can be, especially in entrepreneurship. Today, my sweet friends at The Fuzzy Goat -- a beautiful yarn shop in Thomasville -- gifted me this hand-knitted cowl. It's like they knew how exhausted I've been (they're probably exhausted too!) and figured out the perfect way to shine a little joy during this hectic season. I love small businesses, mostly because I love the people who run them. 5d
  •   jennalupo It's absolutely beautiful!! I want to live in your cute town and shop at the local small businesses! 5d
  •   maycombmercantile Sounds like a great community! I work my full-time day job from home and then spend hours in my home workshop. Some day I'd love to have a studio amongst other creatives and small business owners. Preferably in a small town as well! 5d
  •   susieb1982 How sweet and thoughtful; that's beautiful!! And the girl wearing it is too. Xoxo 5d
  •   anniebjones05 @maycombmercantile you need to move to Thomasville, Ga. Lots of fellow creatives working together! (Plus your beautiful goods have already won over the community... Our shop only has one of your luggage tags left!) 5d
  •   lulubeggs Wow! Thomasville is sooo lucky {blessed} to have you two! I @bookshelftville and @fuzzy_goat! 5d
  •   julianajonesmay Love that! 5d
  •   maycombmercantile Happy that the luggage tags have sold well! Let us know if you need more... Liana has become quite proficient at making them. 5d
  •   morganandchristian I'm buying one of those. ASAP 4d

anniebjones05 I've been really overwhelmed these last couple of weeks, so tonight I stopped to take a picture of the courthouse and God's gorgeous sky. I also played the piano when I got home. These are the things saving my life right now. 2w

anniebjones05 Jordan's out of commission with a broken elbow -- !! -- so I broke tradition and sneaked to Lowe's today for a fake, pre-lit tree. And you know? It's beautiful. Sometimes we have to choose present over perfect. We're better for it, I think. 3w
  •   bsoechting @anniebjones05 what happened to Jordan? Tree looks great! 3w
  •   anniebjones05 @bsoechting he broke his elbow playing basketball with Bill and Jordan May the day before Thanksgiving. BOO! We meet with a surgeon tomorrow to find out if he's going to need surgery. (By the way, love the name Eleanor! So sweet.) 3w
  •   bsoechting @anniebjones05 oh no!!! So sorry! Good luck and keep us posted! We can't wait for you to meet her!!!! Love you guys! 3w

anniebjones05 This is the first time I've ever wanted to cry over my feet hurting so bad, but never fear: I survived Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. We surpassed our sales goals at The Bookshelf the past two days, and I'm hopeful it's a sign of a busy holiday season to come. If you've ever been hesitant to shop locally, to support small businesses in your area, let me encourage you to change your mind. I've met so many fantastic people and business owners through this small business gig, and they all work so hard to bring quality products and events into our community. I bet you have some lovely local spots where you live too. Do me a favor: Choose them this holiday season. They are so worth your support. (P.S. Want to see just how special today was? Check out all the fun pictures we've posted on the @bookshelftville Instagram. We are incredibly grateful for the support we received today.) 3w
  •   maidensouth_ Way to hustle;) congrats! 3w
  •   lulubeggs Big hugs to you and your staff... Thank you for moving here and rocking the downtown T-ville scene! I'm on #TeamAnnie and #TeamBookshelf. 3w
  •   leighalyce We were sad to miss you on White Wednesday ;). But your mama and Ashley did a fab job with the customers! 3w
  •   anniebjones05 @maidensouth_ looks like y'all had a big weekend too! Hooray! Now rest up for next weekend! 3w
  •   anniebjones05 @lulubeggs you're the best! We are grateful for you -- your encouragement is awesome! 3w
  •   anniebjones05 @leighalyce So sad I missed you guys, but I bet mom and Ashley made pretty good substitutes! :) also I think Mary Jewel is the prettiest name... Can't wait to meet that little one! 3w

anniebjones05 Today I am grateful for a warm and cozy home. An understanding and kind husband who loves me for who I am and embraces every quirk and flaw. A dependable, loving family. Grace when I don't deserve it. Fresh starts and new beginnings. Oatmeal cookies and pumpkin bread. Autumn candles and cooler temperatures. Christmas music and Advent lessons. Football rivalries and comfortable boots. A growing, changing faith. A God who sees and understands the ups and downs of this life far better than I, who fights for justice and love and who instills in me a need to fight for the same. It's been a long, hard week in my neck of the woods and in other parts of this country. It's been painful to watch, but I'm still grateful. Grateful for chances to learn and to try and to be better. Happy Thanksgiving, from my home to yours. 3w
