amoongrove Thank my blessings every day that I was given divine care of these two (and the big one who hurt his ankle and stayed home) magic, funny little beings. Proud of how hard they hiked today. Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there. You do the hardest job there is. 3w

amoongrove 🏼The bounty my garden provides never fails to leave me breathless and thankful. Fresh dug turmeric root to see us through the cold months. This was an accidental turmeric crop too. The intentionally sown patch was demolished by the chickens! #turmeric #curcumalonga #hiddenlily #allthegoldenmilk 4w

amoongrove The birds, maybe bats, maybe rats, maybe possums....? Were starting to get to my elderbabyberries so I decided I'll harvest clusters as they ripen, wash, pick from the stems and freeze, adding to the frozen batch over time before tincturing and syruping when there are many. Elder has a very staggered growth pattern, making it a long drawn out season each of flowering and fruiting. She's still just sending out new clusters of creamy fresh flowers, as other clusters of ripe berries are heavy with juice and hanging low. 4w

amoongrove The sky
Is a suspended blue ocean.

The stars are the fish
That swim.

The planets are the white whales
I sometimes hitch a ride on,

And the sun and all light
Have forever fused themselves

Into my heart and upon
my skin.

amoongrove We are visited by these leaf-tail geckos frequently. They must like it here. They're simply stunning creatures, with amazing eyes, slowww movements that allow you to pick them up and pat them, and a small soft stripe down their leaf-shaped tail that is free from the sharp spikes that cover the rest of their body.
Symbolic of transformation, change, transition, shape-shifting, and known as the "dream-keepers".

amoongrove My Elder is going into berry for the first time. She's a year old almost to the day, and absolutely magnificent. She grew fast and strong and replaced an old hibiscus that used to grow here but fell over and was taken out by the landlords which made me ever so sad as we lost a lovely tree and also a lot of privacy. When I put this elder in as a couple of inch tall seedling I had no idea she would become an even more protective shield but that's exactly what she is. I can't wait to make my family winter medicine from her precious fruits. The flowers have come in handy for fever in the kids a few times and I've sprinkled them over cakes and in tea. Next year I'll try elderflower syrup or cordial and I have a lovely recipe for elderflower fritters. I wanted to see her go full berry this first full circle though. #sambucus #elderberry #elder #plantally #naturecure #hedgewitchery 1mon
