amandabouzakine 19 weeks and a quick Sunday stroll in the old neighborhood. A little part of me will *always* wish we still lived in Cambridge. 3d

amandabouzakine "outSIDE" all day every day. He's a big fan of the giant dirt holes where we just removed some bushes and trees. 5d

amandabouzakine Thank you for all your sweet comments of congratulations for our growing fam, and for all the bday wishes!
Here's the belly at 18.5 weeks, taken this past weekend. We hoped and prayed for this sweet baby and we feel grateful every day that he seems to be healthy and growing well.
But in the spirit of not letting social media show only the good moments, I want to give the whole truth about this phase of our life: this pregnancy has been challenging. Much like when I was pregnant with Caleb, I've been extremely sick, but even worse this time around. I couldn't get out of bed many mornings; days would pass without me keeping food down; my doc even tested for dehydration to make sure I didn't need IV fluids (I didn't, thank goodness). Taras had been going to work late each morning and coming back home early; my MIL would spend time with Caleb many mornings; and then there were days when Caleb stayed beside me in bed and watched more movies than I'll ever admit. It was months of feeling like we were barely surviving; weeks of me crying every day out of frustration for how I felt, and out of disappointment for the mom I wasn't able to be for Caleb.
I have finally found relief through acupuncture and for the past few weeks we've been climbing out of this dark hole, getting our home and family back in order, and just enjoying the everyday. I'm still not feeling 100% and don't know if I'll get there, but we're thankful for the incredible progress. And I'm thankful to be carrying this baby boy, even on the tough days.

amandabouzakine His face looks different every day. And I swear he's heavier each morning when I pick him up. Every week, his personality develops a little more. He's becoming such a (big) boy. I found some footed pajamas in the back of the closet and when we put them on him, for a minute I saw my baby again. It's truly unbelievable how quickly they grow. 4w

amandabouzakine So many lines to draw, so many color options. I'm pretty excited that the warmer weather seems to be here to stay! From this day through the end of summer, he'll be coming inside each day covered in dirt and chalk dust. 1mon
