amandabouzakine A morning coffee date, with a side of kids books, because they're basically the best. Local folks, great prices on used kids books at Book and Bar! 2w

amandabouzakine I keep scrolling to this selfie we took a couple weeks ago. Lately, I'm feeling bummed that a photo of us together is a rare event. It's so unrepresentative of this phase of life, when I'm by his side all day long, playing with his trucks, reading book after book, running with him outside. Yet, hardly a photo of us playing together exists. This photo is my recent treasure - it shows perfectly the day when he insisted on wearing my scarf for hours, and how we kept ourselves holed up in our sunroom so we could feel the sunshine but avoid the brutal cold and wind outside. I keep telling Caleb, "You're my buddy. Do you know what that is? It's when we have a lot fun together and spend a lot of time together." Then he says, "buh-dee." There may not be many pictures that show us together, but he knows we're "buh-dees" and that will do just fine. I'm continually thankful for this boy and that I get to spend my days as his buddy. 2w

amandabouzakine It's crazy to think of all the ups, downs, adventures, and love that have filled these past eight years. Happy anniversary to my guy.
Photo by @tanchiki during our post-wedding photo shoot in Rockport, MA. (It rained (a lot) in FL on our wedding day, so we did a photo shoot months later to get outdoor photos.)

amandabouzakine Snow has suddenly become one of my favorite things; there's so much snowy adventure to be had with our little guy. Today, we took him sledding down his biggest hill yet! If only bundling him up for the snow was about ten times faster . 3w

amandabouzakine It's a snow globe outside; Caleb is with his grandparents; Taras and I are procrastinating on all the adulting we need to do today; and we're finding ways to make the Whole30 more enjoyable (unsweetened almond milk cappuccino for me). Cheers to Saturday, friends! 4w
  •   emileerose Can't wait to see how you like it- the Whole30 was amazing for me 4w
  •   seacoastlately Oh my gosh, I was just there!!! haha Have a great day! 4w
  •   amandabouzakine @emileerose I'll def let you know! So far it's been an easy adjustment for us, just keeping our usual brown rice and quinoa out of the meals (we never eat much dairy). The going out to eat, though, is the hardest adjustment! We needed a reset on our eating out habits anyway, so it's for the best, haha! 4w
  •   amandabouzakine @seacoastlately always just missing each other! 4w

amandabouzakine Taras and I have escaped to Portland, Maine for our first (and quick) getaway together since Caleb was born! We're celebrating our 8th(!!!!) wedding anniversary a couple weeks early, by eating all the food, browsing all the shops, and enjoying all the uninterrupted conversation. 1mon

amandabouzakine My tiny explorer! Life with this dude lately is... hmmmm... frustrating, hilarious, and exhausting. Within the span of an hour tonight he threw his whole dinner on the floor, then pooped in the bath. But just before that he fed his stuffed animals a snack and kissed me approximately one hundred times. So it all evens out, right? We're pretty sure we've entered the 18 month phase a few weeks ahead of schedule. We've got sleep regression, separation anxiety, and lots of emotions + feistiness + tantrums. This too shall pass but, MAN, the days are feeling loooong right now. When we go through these developmental phases, it often seems like some evil twin has possessed my boy. I always worry that he'll never go back to being the sweet boy that I know so well. Lately, though, when my patience is hitting its limit, my boy will show his sweet side again, giving me kisses and saying "happy" at just the right moment. He knows just how to fill me up, before vigorously shaking his head and crying "no! no! no! no! nyet!" in response to any conversation during the next hour. You're worth all the lost sleep, little dude (mostly because your "no's" sound so freakin' adorable). 1mon
  •   carley623 Ethan pooped in the bath tonight for the first time!! Plus it just so happened to be the one night his sister begged to take a bath with him... 1mon
  •   amandabouzakine @carley623 this was the first time Caleb had ever done it! Lucky for, taras was in bath duty, haha! 1mon
  •   lady_nole78 He's adorable @amandabouzakine . Enjoy these times, they are exhausting but fleeting 1mon

amandabouzakine Despite us being covered in snow last winter, this is Caleb's first snow that he knows what it is and can play in it. He keeps saying "ice!" "know!" (snow). We had lots of fun over here today! Well, fun until I had to bring his kicking and screaming, frozen self inside to warm up. 1mon

amandabouzakine Merry Christmas Eve, part 2! We're doing gifts tonight with my side of the family (then celebrating again tomorrow with all the families combined!). Currently: my brother is resting on the couch, Caleb is taking a late nap, Taras is picking up Chinese, I'm chilling for a minute in front of the netflix fireplace, and mom and dad are driving over. Merry, Merry! 2mon
  •   gsansbury55 Merry Christmas to you and your family! 2mon

amandabouzakine This is from yesterday when Caleb got to "halp" dada put up our faux built-ins. This week marks a year since we moved into our home... It feels good to check some items off the list! (And if you're wondering how we get anything done with a toddler in tow - it's because our amazing family often helps with the projects or watches Caleb.) 2mon
