alisags Couldn't ask for a better guardian outside my front door in #Ubud. Arrived just in time for the full moon, when flower and rice offerings are littered everywhere across the city. 🌝 2d

alisags Thank you #Hariharalaya for allowing me to call this sweet little hut home for the past week, taking me off the grid, nourishing my soul and body, and introducing me to more extended family I didn't know I had. #Cambodia 4d

alisags One of my favorite discoveries in #Sapa so far. Local tribes call it the "sleeping plant". 😴 3w
  •   jessecdraper Love it! They have it in Hawaii too! Sleeping grass. 3w
  •   azitaloves Oh my god 3w
  •   p1yrsrus We have that plant in India too. Remember playing with it as a kid. 3w
  •   alisags @p1yrsrus Incredible! Give Liam a squeeze for me please. 3w

alisags Mind fully blown by the street food in #Hanoi. Dozens and dozens of (mainly) women just like this one are cooking out of their living rooms or the sidewalks in front of their houses for swarms of people every night. Every set up is makeshift, but the food is some of the best in the world. Hands down. There are no signs or restaurant names. You just follow your or an address shared by someone in the know. 4w

alisags Sad to say goodby to Myanmar, a country on the precipice of so much change as its borders and economy open up to the world. The warmth, kindness and patience of the people - even in cities bursting with cars, different ethnic groups and little infrastructure - is astounding. A truly magical place. 4w

alisags Hydration is key when you're walking the streets of Yangon and it's 40+ degrees Celsius outside. So is sweet, rich back tea on ice, which the locals drink so much if they might as well have it on tap. by @yoram 4w
  •   rachelaubrey Is he getting a lot of beard envy? 4w
  •   yoram @rachelaubrey I have myriad street kids clamoring for a gentle finger comb through my beard. I am also making an equal amount cry out of fear 4w
  •   alisags @rachelaubrey I can attest to that. A 2 year old in Bagan screamed and cried every time her parents tried to walk her over to 'the bearded man' to say hello. If they walked in the opposite direction she stopped crying. It was hysterical. 4w
  •   rachelaubrey Haha @yoram @alisags reminiscent of my first experience with Santa Claus who ALSO happens to be the only bearded emoji. 4w
  •   pickledtreats I'm in Japan with my tall, red-haired, bearded partner and there have been some looks. Some school girls giggles at him today and another guy snapped a photo out of his car window. 4w
  •   alisags @pickledtreats amazing! 4w

alisags Caught last night's sunset from the middle of Inle Lake, one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Everything exists on top of the water - people live in houses and run restaurants that sit above the water on bamboo stilts, and farmers grow fields of vegetables in floating farms. by @yoram 1mon

alisags The view from #Mandalay Hill at sunset as a wild wind storm hit. 12 hours in and already blown away by the kindness of the people and the sea of white pagodas at Kuthadow - so beautiful they'll make your jaw drop. 1mon
