alexwise Backing up old photos tonight and came across these timelapses from a few yeas ago. I always found taking timelapses addicting. Standing there for hours on end eagerly waiting to get home and see the end result is what had me hooked. Fun times even if I almost got my camera gear stolen twice 6d

alexwise Home time. Clothes and shoes are still wet from this morning but I'd still rather be on the bike than the train.

alexwise Rolling through some old photos. It's hard to believe this was taken back in 2005 before every man and his dog started photographing it

This was the first time I photographed Mortimer Bay after stumbling across it on my way down South Arm to catch up with friends. I never quite made it to see them as this sky stole the thunder

alexwise From where I call home - Lindisfarne, Tasmania. Taken a little over 10 years ago. How time flies.

I love that moment where the sunrise light hits Mt. Wellington lighting it up a stunning orange for a few minutes. It makes that early rise worth it

alexwise Riding home in the rain is average at best. Seeing a little colour fill the drab sky from the last light makes it all worth it even if I have to wipe my glasses to see 🤓

It's interesting - colleagues often ask why I ride in the rain. It can be a little hairy at times but as the fair weather cyclists drop off, it just becomes a small courteous group that share the roads together. Provided you take it a bit slower than normal it ends up being quite relaxing.

alexwise Photography for me has always been about the adventure. I love getting away from the 9-5 grind exploring new places with my camera in hand. I've gone a little cold lately as I've got tired of being surrounded by people who seem all too obsessed with the latest equipment or stroking their ego with how high they can get on 500px. It's suffocating.

Time to take a bit of time away for a bit... #seeaustralia #amazing_australia #australia #travelstoke #lonelyplanet #marvelshots #phenomenalshot #wildernessculture #bleachmyfilm #bestintravel #instagoodmyphoto #ig_captures #beautifuldestinations #ig_mood #exploringaustralia #AGameofTones #wow_australia #ig_down_under #ig_australia #australiagram #worldcaptures #bestvacations #visitvictoria @visitmelbourne @australia #victoria #hello_bluey #melbourneiloveyou @officialmorningtonpeninsula #morningtonpeninsula #longexposure

alexwise Taken a while ago now on a fun afternoon down the Mornington Peninsular. It was a stinking hot in true Melbourne fashion so we decided to go a bit early for a swim before taking some photos of the sunset. Was even if a little bit sketchy.. Man, I love the ocean. 3mon
  •   alexwise @wanderingspyder Hi there, this is just past London Bridge but access to it is very tide dependent. I've been a few times and unable to get there which is frustrating! 2w
  •   wanderingspyder @alexwise thanks very much alex.. I will keep an eye on tide movements. Cheers🏼 2w

alexwise After many years passing this hotel on trips down the Peninsular, I couldn't resist a quick roadside snap of what has intrigued me for years.

The hotel is in fact an installation by Callum Morton along Melbourne's Eastlink. Not quite the size of your normal hotel, the hotel is 12 metres long, 20 metres high and 5 metres wide. Once night time hits, the little windows light up, gradually turning off and turning on in different rooms. It’s really quite neat to watch especially as a room lights up a strong colour momentarily.

  •   alexwise @siobhan_marren Thanks! It definitely had me curious for a long time. We pulled over for a closer look and was surprised to find a fair few security cameras around it too. 2mon
  •   freshphotography_melbourne I went there once and did a little shoot. This is a wonderful capture. 2mon

alexwise Looking back towards the city from Prahran from when I owned a Phantom.

I loved having a drone. Being able to throw it in the sky in a crowded city to get the best view of the sunset was unreal but eventually the GoPro drove me nuts. I'm keen to jump back on board one day when heavier payloads can be carried. So much fun. Will have to get that one last @rani_tiss first

alexwise One of my favourite beaches in Tasmania - Beer Barrel Beach just out from St Helen's.

Everyone has their own photos they really like for different reasons and this is one of mine. I spent a lot of time playing around the Bay of Fires as a kid with @wisevisions so when arriving and seeing a father and son fishing made me remember the great times I had here as a kid. Not sure if they caught much. Maybe they did with the recent shark sightings? Either way I'm sure they had a great time. Just like I did many moons ago.

alexwise Taking in the pretty lights this time last week.
@iamjonathan and I have always insisted on seeing Pretty Lights after missing out at Mofo a few years ago. Good times even if Friday at work felt like forever 😬
