alexwise After many years passing this hotel on trips down the Peninsular, I couldn't resist a quick roadside snap of what has intrigued me for years.

The hotel is in fact an installation by Callum Morton along Melbourne's Eastlink. Not quite the size of your normal hotel, the hotel is 12 metres long, 20 metres high and 5 metres wide. Once night time hits, the little windows light up, gradually turning off and turning on in different rooms. It’s really quite neat to watch especially as a room lights up a strong colour momentarily.

alexwise Looking back towards the city from Prahran from when I owned a Phantom.

I loved having a drone. Being able to throw it in the sky in a crowded city to get the best view of the sunset was unreal but eventually the GoPro drove me nuts. I'm keen to jump back on board one day when heavier payloads can be carried. So much fun. Will have to get that one last @rani_tiss first

alexwise One of my favourite beaches in Tasmania - Beer Barrel Beach just out from St Helen's.
Everyone has their own photos they really like for different reasons and this is one of mine. I spent a lot of time playing around the Bay of Fires as a kid with @wisevisions so when arriving and seeing a father and son fishing made me remember the great times I had here as a kid. Not sure if they caught much. Maybe they did with the recent shark sightings? Either way I'm sure they had a great time. Just like I did many moons ago.

alexwise Taking in the pretty lights this time last week.
@iamjonathan and I have always insisted on seeing Pretty Lights after missing out at Mofo a few years ago. Good times even if Friday at work felt like forever 😬 Have that bump and dodge move down pat @cazzyboom #plpix #prettylights

alexwise Home. Taken around early 2010 on a wet and windy day on the Derwent.
I was running along Lindisfarne Bay and saw the swell pounding the shores which is generally unusual for Lindisfarne. With the sun about to set I ended my run early to go home and get the camera which later got a good drenching. Fun times.

alexwise Can't believe how quick 2015 came and went. From starting the year in Sri Lanka and finishing it with my nearest and dearest in Hobart - it's been a good year. Hope it's been a good one for you too.

alexwise After sitting in an office for 14 hours, nothing beats a ride home in the sun to clear the head.

TIL - People name their kids after Instagram filters. If that's the case, mine would be named Rise based on this filter. Rise Wise. Yeah nah.

alexwise Since getting into photography back in 2005, I've been lucky to meet some great people from all walks of life who I now call good friends. It's been a great journey and I'm grateful for the people I've met along the way.

This was taken in Mansfield, Victoria literally from the door step of the rural property we were staying on. Can't wait to get back to the Victorian high country with @rani_tiss, my camera and the bike for a lazy weekend.

alexwise Taken from a fun little trip late last year. One minute I was wearing a suit then the next in a car chasing the last light. Nice way to finish a Friday getting my feet wet and lapping up some golden light. I forget how much I miss the sea. Nothing beats being around close friends by the sea with some silly banter. Good times @iamjonathan.
