alexhonnold Goodbye China - it's been a pleasure! @jimmy_chin captured me sticking the crux moves on Corazon de Ensueño, one of the most impressive long routes I've ever seen. Thanks @_felipecamargo_ for being an amazing partner and @calstrin and @ladzinski for the good times. And thanks to @rocker_qd for all the help with everything and of course @thenorthface for allowing us to go. 2w

alexhonnold Yesterday I got to climb the amazing @arnaudpetit_climb route Lost in Translation (4 pitch 5.13b) up the right side of the great arch in Getu. Such outrageous 3D climbing on tufas and stalactites. Thanks @rocker_qd for the long lens photo. And thanks @jimmy_chin for belaying instead of snapping pics for a change! 2w

alexhonnold Thanks so much to @_felipecamargo_ for supporting me on the 3rd ascent of Corazon de Ensueños (8 pitch 5.14b). He made the second ascent 2 days before but I just wasn't quite able that day. So he climbed the whole route again to support my attempt. I guess that what it's like to be maybe the strongest climber in South America. It's been such a good adventure climbing in Getu!
This pic doesn't really do the position justice - we're over 200ft up on the underside of the great arch. But it's the best I could do while belaying... @thenorthface

alexhonnold @_felipecamargo_ psyched to find a good rest on the most impressive roof either of us has ever had the pleasure of climbing on.
Also, for those that think that Getu is closed because of a hotel they built in the arch: the structure below him is the extent of the construction. It's actually more like a rest stop for tourists - snacks, a viewing platform and bathrooms. It's all nicely done and doesn't impact the climbing at all.
Such an amazing place! Thanks @thenorthface for letting us go on a sport climbing expedition!

alexhonnold Headed to China today for a quick sport climbing trip - figured I'd try my hand at the classic packing photo. Mostly I just wanted to share my reading list for the trip, though I guess the rest of the gear is important too. It's one of those days when I really appreciate my sponsors! 1mon

alexhonnold @cedarwright offwidthing towards the bright lights of heaven. Nothing like terrible belay pictures to get you stoked on old adventures. Cedar showed me how it's done on Trench Warfare (5.12d). @thenorthface #tbt 1mon

alexhonnold First ascenting above the Green River on a super fun @thenorthface expedition a few years ago. I named this route the Green Dragon - it's a pitch of 5.13 bolted arête climbing to access the amazing 5.13 splitter crack and then it topped out the rim with a slabby pitch of 5.12-. @dawoods89 supported me on the send! Probably still the biggest thing he's climbed :) Photo:@celinserbo 1mon

alexhonnold Still trying to learn how to ski - @maurybirdwell captured this photo of me staggering to the summit of Mt Superior above Salt Lake City. Pretty beautiful day out, even if I still don't really know how to do anything... 2mon

alexhonnold Some landscapes are so picturesque it just seems fake.
#tbt to a @thenorthface expedition in the Bugaboos a few years back with @jimmy_chin.

alexhonnold In Washington DC for a few talks and found the time for sightseeing. This FDR quote really struck me. Such a change of tone from so much of modern politics. 2mon

alexhonnold Today I got to go mountain climbing in the Cascades with my favorite guide - @colinhaley1. Nothing like soloing rock in ski boots! @thenorthface @lasportivana 2mon

alexhonnold Sunset as @colinhaley1 and I close in on the summit of Fitz Roy. This was the only photo I took all day while we repeated the Wave Effect - 17 hours to climb Desmochada, de la Silla, and Fitz Roy. That's the problem with simul climbing: no time for tourism. 3mon

alexhonnold @colinhaley1 coiling ropes on the summit of Torre Egger during our traverse of the Torres. After an ascent of a lifetime like that I'm sort of inclined to sit in town and rest a while but the weather is already good again so we're headed back in for more. Colin has unwavering motivation for the mountains, which is probably what makes him one of the best alpinists in the world. I feel more of a tourist's level of motivation in the mountains: inspiring to see them and have adventures but no need for TOO much. We'll see how this weather window goes! 3mon

alexhonnold Sunrise on the South East Ridge of Cerro Torre as @colinhaley1 leads our rappels down after a long day of traversing the range. 32 hours camp to camp to climb all 4 Torres. Thanks for an amazing day out, Colin! 3mon
