alexhonnold Another photo of Dean doing what he did best: being badass. It's been weird reading all the commentary on his life and seeing the big divide between those he inspired and those who think that risk taking is a selfish waste. As much as his death hurts his fiends and family, it's hard not be be inspired by the fact that he spent 43 year having the biggest adventures on earth. We're all going to die eventually, and it will always hurt for our loved ones. But at least Dean fully lived. Respect. Photo: @jimmy_chin 1w
  •   dylan_monky Dean is a amazing person rest in peace Dean 5d
  •   trmcnatt No one is getting off this marble alive. Live the way you want. Dean owned it like a boss. I'd rather go out climbing or surfing than driving to work 5d
  •   kowalla_87 Those people who think it's selfish still think cars are perfectly safe and nothing can ever happen. Everything he, you, and every(well most) other extreme athlete take VERY calculated risks...far more than driving to a store. Thank you Dean for actually doing what you wanted!!! You too alex 2d
  •   eric101k It's sad how people can still hate on and kick a man even after he's gone. Dean Potter was a legend who gave the world so much with his shared adventures, left a profound mark and we all lost so much with his passing. There shouldn't be any negative commentary or opinions about it, just respect, admiration and gratitude RIP Dean Potter.. 2d

alexhonnold It's hard to even describe what an influence Dean Potter had on the climbing world. All I know is that I was personally inspired by him since I was a kid. He pushed climbing in so many interesting directions - and he did it his own way and by his own rules. Such a terrible loss. Rest in peace Dean. 1w

alexhonnold Spending the day biking around Lake Tahoe. I've thought about doing this since I was a kid. Turns out all it takes is a vigorous morning of pedaling. The fresh snow certainly adds to the alpine feel. 1mon

alexhonnold Got to go climbing with the one and only @bethrodden the other day! I always like climbing with someone who's been climbing at a high level for a long time - despite injuries and motherhood Beth still just moves like a natural climber. Gives me hope that I'll be able to climb smoothly my whole life as well. Another lovely day in the Valley. 1mon

alexhonnold Big thanks to @colinhaley1 for guiding me to the summit of Torre Egger. Big learning experience for me to be swinging ice tools and groveling up rime. I didn't manage the best photos, but at least the climbing went well. 3mon
