Tomorrow is DAY 11 of #FourseeBenditBaby and we give you One Legged King Pigeon •|• Eka Pada Rajakapotasana__

1. Begin on all fours, knees directly below your hips, and your hands slightly ahead of shoulders. Slide your right knee forward to the back of your right wrist; at the same time angle your right shin under your torso and bring your right foot to the front of your left knee. The outside of your right shin will now rest on the floor. Slowly slide your left leg back, straightening the knee and dropping the front of the thigh to the floor. Lower the outside of your right buttock to the floor. Position the right heel just in front of the left hip.

2. The right knee can angle a bit to the right. Look back at your left leg. It should extend straight out of the hip, and rotated slightly inwardly, so its midline presses against the floor. Exhale and lay your torso down on the inner right thigh for a few breaths. Stretch your arms forward.

3. Then slide your hands back toward the front shin and push your fingertips firmly to the floor. Lift your torso away from the thigh. Lengthen the lower back by pressing your tailbone down and forward; at the same time, and lift your pubis toward the navel. Roll your left hip point toward the right heel, and lengthen the left front groin.

4. Bend your left knee and grab hold of the inside of your left foot. Stay here for a few breaths or you can try to flip your grip to get into FULL one legged king pigeon 1.

1. Stand in Tadasana (Mountain Pose). Shift your weight onto your left foot, lift your right heel toward your left buttock as you bend the knee. Pull the knee cap up to keep the standing leg straight and strong.

2. There are 2 variations you might try w/ your arms and hands. Either way try to keep your torso upright. The first is to reach back with your right hand and grasp the outside of your right foot or ankle.
3. Begin to lift your right foot up, away from the floor, and back, away from your torso. Extend the right thigh behind you and parallel to the floor. Stretch your left arm forward, in front of your torso, parallel to the floor.

4. The second option is The FUIL POSE: turn your right arm actively outward (so the palm faces away from the side of the torso), bend the elbow, and grip the outside of the left foot. (You can also grab the big toe with the first two fingers and the thumb.) The fingers will cross the top of the foot, the thumb will press against the sole. Inhale, lift the right leg up, and bring the thigh parallel to the floor. As you do this, rotate the right shoulder in such a way that the bent elbow swings around and up, so that it points toward the ceiling. It requires extreme flexibility to externally rotate and flex the shoulder joint in this way. I like to grab hold of my elbow with my left hand to assist with my rotation. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds, release, and repeat on the second side for the same length of time.

Tomorrow is DAY 9 of #FourseeBenditBaby and we give you Locust Pose •|• Salabhasana ][ I decided to show u a somewhat traditional locust pose ][__

1. Lie on your belly with your arms along the sides of your torso, palms up, forehead resting on the floor. Turn your big toes toward each other to inwardly rotate your thighs, and firm your buttocks so your coccyx presses toward your pubis.

2. Exhale and lift your head, upper torso, arms, and legs away from the floor. You’ll be resting on your lower ribs, belly, and front pelvis. Firm your buttocks and reach strongly through your legs, first through the heels to lengthen the back legs, then through the bases of the big toes. Keep the big toes turned toward each other.

3. Raise your arms parallel to the floor and stretch back actively through your fingertips. Or grasp your hands together as pictured.

4. Gaze forward or slightly upward, being careful not to point your chin forward and crunch the back of your neck. Keep the base of the skull lifted and the back of the neck long.

5. Stay for 8-10 breathes, then release on an exhalation.

1. Lie on your belly. Press your forearms against the floor and lift your head and upper torso.

2. Bend your right knee and bring the heel toward the same-side buttock. Then, supporting yourself on the left hand, reach back with your right hand and clasp the inside of your foot.

3. To start press your foot toward the buttock; after a while, if you have the flexibility, take the foot slightly off to the side and press it toward the floor. Be sure to keep your knee in line with your hip. Don’t push your foot too hard if it hurts your knee.

4. Square your shoulders with the front of the mat and don’t collapse into your left shoulder.

5. Do Half Bhekasana on each side for the same length of time, 8-10 breathes.
