afloralfrenzy This would have to be one of my favorite jobs I've assisted Joost on. It was literally a family affair with Joost's family helping out and foraging the ripe loquat fruit from his mother's tree. Pei Modern restaurant hosted Italian chef Massimo Bottura for his book launch of 'Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef' so Joost was asked to do an installation in the restaurant for the night. A couple of hours before the event we picked a van full of loquat fruit (I may have thrown a dozen of them at his head also) and drove straight to the restaurant from Monbulk. We pretty much had to hustle the minute we got there with Joost and his sister using his collection of vintage National Geographic magazines as vessels to hold the branches of loquats and then suspending them en masse from cotinus branches attached to the ceiling. I loved watching the guests on arrival asking what the suspended fruit was and then actually pick them to take a bite! And how great is that famous Steve McCurry cover?! @joostbakker @peimodern @massimobottura @markbest 2mon
  •   jtc______ @afloralfrenzy do you have a pic of the finished result? Love it! 2mon
