thesartorialist Il Capo! Carlo Montanaro, Direttore di THE LIFE

I've know Carlo for years, actually I think one of the very first photos I ever took in Milan was of him crossing via Manzoni looking dashing as usual. As you can imagine the Panerai @panerai luncheon ,in Florence last week, was full of chic gentleman like Carlo and Mr. Koh (whose photo I'll post later)

thesartorialist New friend Mr. Angelo Bonati, CEO Officine Panerai, @panerai that very charming, soft-spoken Italian gentleman that can't hide a burning passion for watches and boat racing. Another good reason to visit Florence as often as possible. 2d

thesartorialist Does fashion fade?? I think the above image , shot by Amy Arbus in 1984, still looks as fresh today as it did when it first appeared in The Village Voice and yet it's very strong fashion not "classic style". In my event with @amyarbus tomorrow evening at the Strand @strandbookstore we will discuss this concept and the evolution and influence of street photography on contemporary fashion and photography.

thesartorialist Ugh...I thought I'd get through the spring without buying an expensive @prada shirt but that blue Hawaiian shirt is calling my name! I love that it's cut shorter and that the fabric is so fluid ( sorry I'm just using this post to talk myself into buying this!) 5d

thesartorialist Beautiful day in Malasaña, Madrid!
I love the tats and the dress but it's the delicacy of her hands that is so alluring. If you know any Spanish ladies with a dance background then you know just how beautifully they've learned to move their hands. @chiribitas

  •   thelopezfamily I'm Belgian but living in Madrid for a long time ago now. I'm completely in love with the spirit and fresh air of Madrid. However, I still feel it could be better in design and fashion style. But anyway, I'm in love with this city :-) 4d

thesartorialist Another great look in Barcelona that is slightly vintage inspired. I'm feeling a kinda Donna Summers vibe going on here. #untaggable 1w

thesartorialist Vintage is done is a slightly more refined way in Spain than what I typically see in New York. In Spain, vintage is almost looked at like new clothes with a different style than what's currently in stores whereas in NYC vintage is more about associating with a mind-set and a concept of an alternative lifestyle. #untaggable @arnauobiols 1w

thesartorialist Finally I get a chance to introduce my audience to Amy Arbus @amyarbus a woman who's book "On the Street", is made up of a collection of images she took for The Village Voice, from 1980 to 1990. She shot street style before it was called "street style". Even though her choice of subject and style of photography is very different from mine, I've always found it very inspiring and it helps me to understand how I want people to look at my images both today and 10, 20, & 30 years in the future.

So please join us at The Strand to hear Amy and myself discuss  fashion photography and street style over the last 30 years.

thesartorialist LOVE the old painted-tile storefronts of Madrid! I hate to sound like an old man but can't graffitist have a little respect for other people's art? 1w
  •   nes_des_ Me encantan esas firmas y el contraste. Me encantaria tenerlas en eel frente de mi casa !! Lovely!!! I d like to paint with them!! 5d
