Pictured: Paintings of Civil War battles and generals were popular both during and after the war and even unto today. In this oil on canvas painting, Adams County resident Charles Morris Young depicts the “High Water Mark on the Gettysburg Battlefield.” Dated 1892, many of the objects depicted in this painting can still be found on the field today. It is also believed Young had done touch up work on the Cyclorama painting in 1913 when it was installed.
